Sorry if this is answered elsewhere but what date in the month do the MDP pay you? I'm assuming it's monthly rather than weekly. Thanks for any help folks.

Evening all, Just curious if anyone had info/insight to share as I've been waiting on a reply from the horses mouth (MDP) for a while now. Basically, the part about having "GCSEs (or equivalent) English and Maths grade C" meaning you can skip the competency questions - does anyone know what an acceptable 'equivalent' is? I ask because I have a BTEC qualification 'equivalent' to 4 GCSEs A*-C and a Key Skills qualification 'equivalent' to a C in English - and am hoping that could save me some time/risk on answering the preliminary questions. Failing that if anyone had a telephone number for HR I'd be much obliged. Thanks

Hey Guys, So I've read through the other threads here and have a basic understanding of how things are going to be when I start my training but how restricted to the base are you? I'll have my car with me and my hometown is only about 40 minutes away, are we restricted to the base throughout the week or can we come and go as we please provided you're within a certain timeframe etc? Thanks

Hi Guys, I passed my assessment center back in July. Before I went down, I purchased the How2 Become books. I found that they were a great help to me when I went for the interview and written tests and gave me something to study. As I dont need them any more, I have stuck them on ebay. Hopefully they will help someone else with the whole process. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/How-2-Become-A-Police-Officer-Full-Selection-And-Interview-Advice-Books-/151845427893?hash=item235ab15ab5

I suppose this is a little heads up to anyone applying and thinking you're guaranteed a spot at the AC. So I recently sent my application off to the MDP. I drafted the competency questions up and sent them onto a friend who studied English at university (now works for a web development firm writing up content). So I know the grammar/spelling was perfect. It's also worth noting that although I didn't quite get a C at GCSE at school; since leaving in 2005, I have passed a couple of key skills assessments (GCSE equivalent) but have misplaced the certs - hence why I decided to complete the competency questions. My point to this is, I'm 27 years old and I'm at manageria…

Hi everyone, I'm looking at applying to join the MDP and have a few questions so I can make sure its 100% for right me. 1 - What are the chances of me being stationed at Hereford? Do I have a say in where I go? 2 - What does the SEARCH test cover? Is it something I can revise for? Any recommended revision material? 3 - On the MDP recruitment website it says the starting salary is 21000, are pay rises performance based? what is the time frame before it is likely to go up? 4 - Is the fitness test just the beep test? 5 - At what stage in the application / training process do you become an officer and start getting paid and how far in does it become full time (at wh…
