Metropolitan Police (London)

At what point during training do you get uniform? Does anyone know what we're allowed to take home and when it's issued? Regards

Hi guys, does anybody here work as a special in the borough they live? If so how is it in respect of putting you and your family at risk, seeing criminals/suspects around the area etc? Would anybody recommend not choosing the borough they live in to work as a special?

Hi, I applied for SC position in the Met and have been invited to the day 1 assessment. I was previously advised I would not need to attend Day 1 as I'm IPS within another force with 4 years service? Has anyone any knowledge of the process? Thanks

Anyone know the external website address? We are allegedly allowed to access it externally. For the life of me, I can't seem to find it via search engines. Munky

I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts etc on which one of these would be the most sensible choice? I have seen some other threads, but the info its fairly old so..... I know that HT is going to be very diverse, and i should think i will get a lot of experience there, but then the OSU also sounds like a great place to start too? As i write i am wondering if the OSU even exists, were they shutting them down? Start training on 11th Feb (hybrid) hoping at Bethanal Green, anyone else? N

Hi, I'm just filling in my assessed EAB (124A). On the front, second line down, it says "ARREST/POCESS/INCIDENT ....................." The case is theft, so would I cross out process/incident and write "Theft"? Don't really know what to write there as it's the lines, the following lines appear to be for date/time/location. Also, is "Suspect/person(s) concerned/arrested" just the offender? Seems odd as "Name of Accused" is further down the page. I'm sure I'll find more things I get stuck on! Thanks. Doc

Hi all, Does anyone know what is replacing PLC from April 2013? Or is this information yet unknown? Does anyone have any news with regards to Met PC recruitment from April onwards.

Hi All, I have recently received confirmation of my Day 1 date and I have a couple of concerns lingering in my mind. First, In October 2012 I was issued with a £60 FPN for no seatbelt as a passenger - was an absent minded mistake. Will this cause me any major dramas with vetting, and in turn will it hinder my suitability? Second, I am currently a student at University and I work at the Student Union bar as an in house Door Supervisor. I will have finished University and in turn left this job long before i would be attested so I wouldn't think it would be a problem but if anyone could provide any clarification I'ld appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance for any hel…

Hi everyone, I was having a look online and on the forum and couldn't find anything so I thought I would make this my first post! Does anyone know if Croydon police do drive-alongs? I am really interested in becoming a special and would love to see what officers get up to on shift. I have been emailing someone from the MSC but they are currently away untill the 11th of Feb so I may get an answer quicker here! Thanks in advance.

So I just booked onto the Mon-Fri training in March. Anyone else booked onto this?

Hello, I hope this is posted in the right place! Been offered training dates for MSC. I'm under the impression that training is in Hendon? Any other venues closer to SE London? If anyone knows anything I would be much obliged. Many thanks HD

Like the title suggests...Is it possible to talk to someone who is already a serving Special at your local police station?

Hi All, I am wondering if anyone else is on the intensive training course starting 4th Feb I have been confirmed booked onto this :new_shades: Be good to know some ppl on the course Rob

Just to give you a heads up that cambridgeshire are recruiting for PCs. Applications open till the 20th of this month. No requirement on being a special or having ckp. Not eligible myself as I dont have a driving licence but thought that some of you might like to have a look. Vacancies are on the cambridgeshire recruitment page. My copy and paste isnt working at the moment. Good luck to anyone thinking of giving it a shot!!!
