Hi guys. How's everyone else getting with their plc?? Lot of work to do !! Just a quick question regarding references and stuff ! Does anybody no know when, References and Current Employment references are taken? ( whilst we're on our plc course?) And how in depth they are ?? And with regress to 3 years sick days! How many "sick days" are you allowed to have before they begin to look more thoroughly? Anyone know what the number is?? And also what things they ask your employer?? I.e disciplinary err Cheers COPPER

Please see a modified version of a recent posting on MSC Online: I would really encourage anyone who is eligible to attend to come to the briefing session - it will give you a chance to find out about what CO15 MSC officers do and to speak to the current team. If you can't make the event we will do our best to facilitate a session at the garage most convenient for you. There is a sign up duty and a more comprehensive background information post in the Cross BOCU Deployments section of MSC Online. I'll do my best to answer any questions on here. Closing date for applications is 6th January 2012. Thanks James

Was just reading the requirements for those applying for this round of PC recruitment and I noticed you have had to have done 200 hours in the last 6 months. Is this correct? Never heard this before.

Hello So, next month I'm joining the Met as a PC and since it'll be somewhat of a commute from where I live at present I shall be making the move to 'that London'. Now, the Misses is quite keen to live in North London and we quite like it in Stroud Green / Crouch End as it seems nice and village-ish yet has good transport links to the rest of the city. Last weekend we were in the area to look at flats but didn't find the right one so haven't signed a tenancy yet. However, it's suddenly dawned on me that moving somewhere and paying £1,200pcm rent might not be the cleverest idea in the world, especially since until the Misses finds herself a job it's going to be up to me …

Hi all, been lurking for a while but finally attested so thought I would get stuck in and ask a question. I want to start using my warrant to get free tube travel, but holding off at the moment until I have some idea what I would do if staff asked for my help. So say tube staff are holding a person who has allegedly tailgated through a barrier and he is trying to get away - what would be the best course of action while off duty? I assume there is some offence of fair evasion that I could detain him for. But would I arrest so i could use force (hold him) and wait for the BTP? Apologies if this has been asked before, couldn't find anything relevant. TIA!

So: I applied for Skippers but didn't get it. I've been kicked off my unit onto one that isn't working for me. I like the idea of a fresh start, but I have no idea how to go about it. I generally work Fridays after my day job or Saturday/Sunday days. Any suggestions welcome.

Could anyone offer any advice following personal experience/experience of others regarding being an active member of the MSC and also serving in the Territorial Army. I have been in the TA for over 5 years now and the commitment mainly concerns Wed evening training, occasionally 1 weekend per month and one, two week training package per year. It is not a big commitment however I thought it best to seek advice on the matter to be on the safe side. Basically just wanted to get an understanding of if the issue has been brought up before as a search didn't return plausible results. VMT.

Apologies if it has been posted before, those going through the sc-PC process in the future, do they just keep the kit that has already been issued to them? Or does it have to be returned and new uniform ordered?

The KEE exams on the special training are pass or fail, so if you fail and fail on the retake and recourse your off but it's not the of the world and you go back to your normal job. So my question is how do they test you on the PC course and what happens if you fail?

Hi all, trying to make a decision on my borough choices. Ideally I would like ZT, but would like more info on what type of work specials are assigned to doing? Any helpful advise would be appreciated!

Probably a silly question but I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere else. Besides there's no better place to ask a silly question than on the internet with the shield of anonymity Does the Met have it's own gym or do any gyms offer membership discounts to the Police that extends to the MSC? The reason I ask is because I was considering joining one once (if) I complete my training and find myself in London more often.
