Hi guys, So I'm on day 3 of my training and I was wondering if I should start talking to my borough yet or leave it till closer to my attestation? Did anyone else contact their borough while training and was it benificial? I'm eager to start and want to hit the ground running the 1st day I'm at my borough after attestation. Does anyone have a contact for the person in charge of msc in newham? Thanks guys.

Hi guys, apologies if this is posted in the wrong thread as I couldn't see one which looked appropriate. When I pass training and eventually get to borough will the met pay for my national rail expenses as I will travel from peterborough (Cambridgeshire less than 70 miles away)? The reason I ask is because I rang up today and the recruitment officer was umming and arring about whether I do or don't? In fact I was led to believe I do hence the reason I applied. Some please clarify this for me Thanks!

Hi all. Been a long time since I posted in here! Hope everyone is ok! Topic for me today... issuing FPNs in plain clothes. s54(1) RTOA 1988 states that an officer must be 'in uniform; to issue an FPN to someone who he believes committed the offence. Two part question to this... 1) Is it defined anywhere as to what 'in uniform' means? Is there any case law on it or printed in legislation anywhere. I am pretty sure and a lot of people have mentioned that the officer must be 'readily identifiable as a police officer', which fits in quite well as presumably the whole reason why they put 'in uniform' is so that the person a knows that it is a police officer dealing with th…

Hi all, I am currently applying for the met graduate entry programme and wondered if anyone on here knew what the online assessments entail? I am thinking it will be some sort of multiple choice scenario tests but it would be great to have an idea, any advice would be appreciated! Cheers, Rob

As a Special Constables, what opportunities open up to you after your probationary period? My aim is to become an Armed Police Officer - are specials allowed to do such a thing or would I have to join the regulars first for a few years and then apply for such a post? Does the probationary period even matter now? or is it more down to achieving your IPS?

Hi guys, start my training 7th Jan intensive course. I will be using national rail to commute to London from peterborough and then obviously tube it to hendon or wherever. Just a few questions about expenses. Do they prefer if I get a weekly national rail ticket or monthly? Also do I use an Oyster card for train or do I just buy individual tickets?

To help new members to the board or for those who are progressing with their MPS careers, I've pulled together a list of the threads for the most commonly asked questions: Thinking of joining the MSC? Have a look here for tips or ask any questions you might have before applying - Application Process to the MSC If you're currently in the application system, this thread should give you a great insight in to the process - Application & Assessment (Day 1 & Day 2) Thread For those who've passed their Day 2 and been accepted on to a training course - MSC Training Thread Passed all your training or just not sure which borough to ask for? This list (which admite…

I have my Day 2 on 13th December (next thursday I think) and I am absolutely bricking it. I haven't done any prep except for maybe one or two bleep test practice and I consider myself slightly unfit (I get tired and puffed out a bit easily after running...even for a bloody bus!) So is there enough time to prep up and does anyone have any tips? I don't think the gym is an option atm. I don't have the money or resources to implement it in such short space of time. Regards

Just saw an episode of Street Crime UK. I saw a couple of BTP lot wearing a Hi-Viz and the length stops just above the utility kit, so there is easy access to equiptment. Don't you think more thought have been put in to their design compared to the long ones. Very annoying when you need to grab equipment and you have to lift up the flaps to access things! Anyone else have share the same problemo?

Guys, Staying on topic as the last two topics have been blocked. According to Bluelight's Twitter page the Met will be making an announcement on Monday or Tuesday next week regarding the pre-join Certificate in Knowledge of Policing. As the College of Policing has been set up (formerly NPIA) in addition to the PAT results yesterday, it should be interesting what comes out of next week. Also, Bluelight have nearly subscribed there first two intakes for the CKP next year and have introduced two new intakes on their website. Let's keep this thread relevant guys and not ramble on like the previous posts and just post useful information
