Hi, I had my assessment day a couple of days ago and was wondering, provided I've passed (although the interview went painfully badly so maybe I didn't), how long should I expect to have to wait for a fitness test and medical? Also after that how long in your experience does everything else take? Cheers

Thought I'd ask, where do you personally Police, is it your home town or, further afield? The next town maybe? Or in the larger/ busier cities? Just wondering people's views on Policing your home town really?

Do I have to wait until a recruitment campaign or is it worth sending an email to the specials recruitment address?? Also, anyone know when the next campaign is? Cheers.

Found out today that I passed the paper sift and awaiting confirmation of the assessment centre date. It would appear to be on 23rd/24th August. Glad I phoned now to check receipt of my data collection form. Apparently the one in June has had to be cancelled - anyone know why? Anyhoo! It's good news. S

Just wondering who else is attending this induction? I received all my workbooks for gateway via email, does this mean I should print them, I saw some of you had them mailed to you a few days before the induction date.

It's good to see the topic (or should I say issue) of Specials and response training come to light in the latest edition of frontline as per edition 171 page 16. The reply from the Superintendent John in my opinion is weak and somewhat misses the point though. Firstly, the officer submitting the letter Mike Elkins makes reference to TPT/RPU officers only been given response training. Superintendent John in his reply states that he is not aware of Specials in RPU been trained in response - SC Elkins clearly didn't mean that. Has anyone been invited to the fitness test on the 3rd July? Wanted to know if anyone was going to see what training they might be going to do before the day.

Im hopfully transfering to Portsmouth soon and was wondering how specials are deployed. I am specificly looking at Southsea or Fratton.

Hi all, im currently waiting to hear if I passed the assessment but jumping ahead of the game im just interested in the process should I pass. I keep seeing gateway modules, induction a, uniform fitting, induction b etc. Can anyone tell me how this all fits in to place and roughly how long it takes? Thanks

So, the last thread got lost in the forum recovery, but I'm trying to get as many people here on Yammer as possible to get us the critical mass to be self sustaining. So who here isn't yet on Yammer? You can access it at home as well as on the Hampshire network which is a bonus.

Having looked at various sites/facebook pages dotted around on the internet it seems the weather and other factors have slowed down entrance to the festival and congested much of Ryde and Newport. How many officers have been sent to police the event, from both the island and the mainland?
