Hi guys, I'm wondering if you can help me? I don't know what the difference between Gateway and Foundation training is?!? Also, what's Induction A and Induction B?? Can someone clear this all up for me, I just need to know what the 'crack' with training is cos I'm confused! Many thanks!

Hi all, Its been a while since i posted on here so do bear with me, I have recently had my induction for this PLC course during which i was given the biggest 'wadd' of paperwork ive ever encountered since my foundation training days. Since taking my workbooks home and reading through them, i have started to feel very disheartened due to the level at which the workbooks have been written. I went to school and obtained 11 GCSE's at A*-C but didn't go on to further or higher education. Because this is university level work, im thinking that im in above my head and if i just shouldnt bother, Im panicing already thinking that my dream of being a potential full time office…

Do specials in hampshire have a different collar number to regulars? May just be me but ive only ever seen specials with a collar number starting with a certain number! Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk

Evening, I recieved my initial 10 module Gateway CD yesterday and completed it all last night, even emailed all the 'Knowledge Test' forms back. I was wondering how these are marked and what those marks mean? Is there a basic pass/ fail criteria or is it just a formality to show how you train and how much is needed. Also, what happens next? Do I get emailed an invite to a practical 'workshop' or, do I need to wait for satisfactory results from this test and(/ or) vetting and the medical (or is this irrelevant?) Furthermore, how long on average did it take to do all training for you? And, How long between workshops? Many thanks!

Hey guys, As you might have seen from my signature, I have received my vetting and medical form through email from the lovely ladies at recruitment. However, I am literally sitting here gawping at these pieces of paper feeling lost and confused at what is being shown. I was given a little envelope when I completed my fitness which requires me to write some bits on the front yet doesn't provide much information Has anyone been through this recently that could give aid? A quick question, I wonder if anyone can help - once you have achieved IPS on the old paper PACS system how do you go about starting the PLC? Can it be started at any time or are there certain 'intake' times?

Hi everyone, I'm currently awaiting my medical for hants and going through vetting. I started my gateway training last week too. Please could someone answer my questions? 1. How long is training likely to take? Assuming vetting goes through in good time. 2. How close are the workshops run together? If I was willing to commit a few days could I complete the gateway workshops within say a month? 3. In general how are specials utilised in Hampshire? 4. Until you are IP, are you with a tutor or on restricted shifts? I know some forces wont let you work nights or go out with anyone but a tutor and it can be quite competitive for shifts Thanks, any other info about th…

Hi everyone. Has anyone heard any rumours as to when Hampshire are likely to next take student officer's? i know they will only take from the current pool of specials and police staff (and also having completed the PLC) Has anyone heard any gossip on the likely dates and numbers that will be taken on? i'm currently on the PLC, but am one of a small number of external candidates left in the process, i will need to find new employment mid 2012, and am hoping someone might know something to help me decide on what to do with regards my next job! thanks for any help S'West.

I'm glad this has finally happened. It's also the sensible move as the research shows it doesn't have any discernible impact anyway.

Hey guys, Just a quick question to see if anyone else has ever been in this situation before. On December 7th I attended my induction for Hampshire Constabulary's Special Constable role and I was told that the results would be emailed to me within 20 days. Now that's December 27th, and I understand Christmas got in the way, but is it possible I've been forgotten about? I know I'm jumping to conclusions, but is it a case of I did SO bad that they won't even give me an email for my results? (Can you tell I have faith in myself?)
