PM me for a chat if any of you would like, I would appreciate any local knowledge that you can pass on. Dan

Oh well, got the e-mail few weeks ago saying I may or may not get in now as police staff will be getting in on the intakes if any come up. Bit gutted as I can't even join the specials because of a conflict of interest with my current job . Just got to keep my hopes up!! Just wondering what everyone else is doing if they arent going to get in and if anyone knows of any advice they can give me as of what to do in the mean time while I wait to see if I can get in before my assessment centre results runs out of date? Shame but I know im not the only one.

All, Please take five minutes to watch this interview. http://www.policeoracle.com/news/In-Depth-Moving-Forward-With-The-Specials_32930.html This was published this week on PoliceOracle.com. Contains a couple of Videos, one from CC of TVP and Specials' lead, C/Supt Richard Roland, an excellent 6 minute interview which demonstrates Hampshire's view of the Special Constabulary, and it's future plans. In addition to the above press release, there is also another article published on GetHampshire.co.uk about the new Gateway learning program: http://www.gethampshire.co.uk/news/s/2091453_specials_put_through_new_training_scheme Regards FG

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-13060158 Police in a Hampshire town have asked shops to stop selling high-energy drinks to under-16s on Friday nights. Police said community concern about nuisance being caused by large groups was the reason for the request. The British Soft Drinks Association said each can has the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee and makers cannot market the drinks to children. In a report to Whitchurch Town Council, police said: "There had been a large influx of youths in Whitchurch who had been making a nuisance of themsel…

Everyone involved - including six members of police staff - was examined but nobody required hospital treatment. An investigation is under way. The affected officers remained on duty. The cause of the leak, which was contained within the custody unit, is being investigated by engineers. The unit will remain closed un…

....test is booked in for? At our assessment day (2 weeks ago Thursday) we were told that the turnaround of responses would be relatively quick as the next fitness day was a week today....haven't heard whether i was successful yet (although not very hopeful) and just wondered whether they would carry out tests with only a weeks notice! Thanks
