http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-11952109 A bank robber went to a pub, threw the stolen cash in the air and said, "the drinks are on me," has been detained under the Mental Health Act. Christopher Allnut, 42, went into Barclays Bank, Winchester, in August and told staff: "Good morning, I'm here to rob you today." He left with £1,600, dropping £350 in the street, and walked into the nearby Wetherspoon's pub, Old Gaol House. Allnut, of Southampton, pleaded guilty to robbery at Winchester Crown Court. Hello all, Very quick question. I'm sure that I heard once that a Special has 30 days in which to withdraw their resignation from the Constabluary. Is this true? Like I say, I am sure that I have heard that, or maybe even read it on here. Either that or a very, very, strange dream. Cheers.

I was at the Southampton Boat Show Today. Two launches were there and suddenly I noticed a sign on one of the vessels. It basically said there was a review into the future operation of the Marine Unit, and if anybody was interested in purchasing one of the three launches to speak to a crew member! With all the cuts going on, is the Marine Unit for the kybosh?

I've had a read around the forums and it seems to vary greatly! Maybe anyone that's recently passed or has recently joined could shed any light? =]

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-11823779 A Hampshire police officer caught with indecent images of children and extreme pornography has been given only a caution, the BBC has learned. Nick Oliver, 31, who worked as a traffic officer in Portsmouth, was arrested in August. It has emerged that Hampshire Constabulary decided to caution him without referring the matter to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). Mr Oliver resigned from his job and left the force on Monday. Children's charity The NSPCC criticised the move as sending a "poor message" to society. Hampshire Police said Mr Oliver had been found to be in possession of about 50 images. Most of…

Hello all, Just received my Specials application pack through by email. The email states not to complete the competencies in the pack, following a new recruitment structure. Has anyone got any details on this? I'm guessing the competencies come into play at a later stage, or there are other or more effective means by which to assess applicants? Just wondered, thanks for any help Sam
