Hampshire Constabulary

Due to the recent budget Hampshire are cutting recruitment this financial year from 250 to only 60. All courses have been pretty much cancelled or have been moved around.

Hello folks, I recently went to Hamble recruitment event for the regular job. I have just landed a job cleaning and kind of like it, I was wondering if anyone knows before I phone Monday if its possible to get my application transferred as a special? I understand after reading on the hants police website that specials don't need to do the CBQ, I have yet to receive my results of that paper. Lets say I fail.... am I able to put through a specials app asap? Good night!

Hey, I have my assessment centre on July 6th and was just wondering if there was anyone else attending it and what sort of prep work you were doing. Hope to hear from a few. Good luck anyone who is..

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie in the early stage of application. Since school I have written in block capitals. As the Police application form assesses spelling and grammar would it be advisable to complete the form in lower case with capitals where necessary or should I stick with my preferred writing style. Any advice appreciated.

Hi, I attended the Portsmouth recruitment event back in March, and handed in my form a few days later. I 've had the letter confirming my application but have not heard anything else yet. Is anyone else at the same stage as me?

Hi all. I've completed all of my application requirements. Just waiting for my vetting to come back to get my official start date. (Currently looking like 2nd August). Back to the subject of vetting, I had a vetting interview a while ago and I was wondering if anyone else had been to one and how long did it take for a result. regards Gunner0411

Has anyone who attended the assessment day on the 20th of may got there letters yet?

As the title suggests, I am going on a observation this Saturday. I was thinking of just wearing white shirt and black trousers. Is this ok? Should I be more formal, or less formal? Thanks in advance! Chris

Hello All! Well I have my assessment day on the 26th, 9 am (Let me know if you do too!). I am writing as Hampshire have only just swapped to the national assessment framework for specials. The day includes: A Situational Judgement Test (Multiple choice written test) Written Test - Times excerise to test your standard of english Competency based interview - (20 minutes) Really I was looking for hints and tips on what would be good excerises to strengthen my application? Any comments, whether directly linked to the question or not, please contribute!! Thanks in advance! Chris

Hello, I have a final interview in the next couple of weeks and I was just wondering what to expect re. questions that they will ask. I know that it will involve the core competencies but do they ask any other specfic questions? Any help would be appreciated! cheers, Jo

Just thought I'd post a thread to tell the locals that recruitment is open if you live in Hampshire or the Isle of Wight. http://www.hampshire.police.uk/Internet/jobs/policeofficers/
