Hi All I have my assessment centre date on the 20/05/10. Is there a way to practise the written exercises? If you do not complete one or both of the written exercises would this be a fail for the whole day? What is the overall pass mark need? And any more advice you think I might need would be very much appreciated. Many Thanks Justin

Hi, It's a long way off yet, but would be interested to learn a little more. Been reading about the driving tickets needed to drive certain vehicles and understand that there are some different levels to be qualified to in order to do certain things. Any officers out there who could enlighten me on the level to which new recruits are trained (I'm guess, eventually, low performance response to enable compliant stops and TPT work?) and what the training involves? I have visions of having to drive 'properly' again like in my driving test. Not sure I could break the bad habits! :)

Hey Ladies and Gents, I recently attended one of the many recruitment evenings in Southampton and subsequently dropped my application to Netley a little over a week ago. I know that there are a lot of people in the same boat as me (I only had to look around the lecture hall to see!). I just wanted to find out how everyone's applications had gone, how they found the initial process (so far!) and a place to share updates on the applications! So I am Chris, its the first time I have applied to join Hampshire Police, I just think the process is so exciting, its just a pain it takes so long!! I'm currently working in insurance, which is along way away from what I want to be…

Hi all, I'm new to the forums after coming across you guys from a Google search... just about to start training with Hampshire Constabulary as a regular officer, and going through the IPLDP Pack I've got a query which I wondered if somebody could answer... It mentions that you begin your IP as either a member of a Targeted Patrol Team or Safer Neighbourhoods Team... I've always wanted to do TPT over SNT, and wondered if you get to choose or if you're placed in a group? When I went out on an observation shift, the officers mentioned that everybody starts out doing TPT, but I'm not so sure after reading the information sent through from Recruitment... Would be grateful …

With a view to working in either 4 OCU or 5 OCU is it expected that the Officer foots their own car parking bill or is their some free/cheap parking available? (for security, exact locations not needed) I'm not adverse to paying for parking, just that in the city centres it's upwards of £10 a day to park and 24h tariff. £200+ a month seems a bit steep considering they post you in. Foot/Cycle/Train not an option for me for my commute. Cheers

Hello All! I was lucky enough, like alot of you reading I'm sure, to attend a recruitment event in Southampon. I have now summitted my application and now is just the waiting! I know someone will responde saying "This has already been mentioned earlier in the forum", however I promise I have been searching, with not alot of luck. I have no worries with the Push/Pull test, however the Bleep Test does worry me quite abit. So to my questions: Firstly is it a 15m or 20m bleep test? Secondly, could anyone give me any tips on how to increase my ability within this test, I do have a gym membership which I use alot, so any gym based training (as much detail as possible) woul…

Hi, with an upcoming interview, and hopefully if all goes well I have been told there may be the possibility of start dates from April onwards. I was just wondering if any serving officers could tell me what shifts pattern Hampshire uses? Many thanks.

Hello All Pleased to meet you all on here, looks a great site! I have asked for a place on Hampshire Constabulary's February open day and have a few questions. 1) Am I too old at 37 to join and have a decent career? 2) What is the shift pattern for new PCs in Hampshire? 3) Do you have any preference for your station/posting? 4) Can you work in your home town? 5) Can I "top-up" the pension to ensure I have a decent income after retirement as I wont be able to do 30 years? Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and help. All the best

Hi Everyone I have noticed Hampshire Constabulary have just opened up their recruitment campaign. I have completed and passed the assessment centre in december for the role of a special constable as I believed Hampshire would not recruit until late 2010. What I would like to know is can I apply to be come a regular whilst I am in the process of joining as a special?. Many Thanks Darren

Morning all, I'm in the process of transferring my Police Officer assessment results to Hampshire due to the fact that I am now unable to move up north to my original force. Anyone else transferred their application? If so have you had any forms etc through? Secondly, I've had a look on the Hampshire site and I can't seem to find anything on Police Officer training/student officer programme? How are the weeks split up for student officers? Lastly, I have to attend a final interview which I believe is required of all applicants. Any advice for this on what the interview would consist of? Would it just be competencies and stuff again? Thanks in advance.
