Hi everyone. I'm looking to apply for Hampshire Constabulary as a Special, I applied for Surrey about 3 months ago and unfortunately didn't make it through the written test (Still extremely gutted about!) I actually live in Fleet so policing a more local area would probably be a lot easier and petrol cost effective!! I'm currently pondering what station to apply to, Fleet is my most local but being a Fleet resident nothing ever seems to go on! (Unless you guys have got so good your arresting the drunkards before they even make it onto the streets) My other options include Basingstoke, a little out of town but I know the town centre really well and it could be a bit bus…

Just a quick thread about frontline training. Me and a colleague are going to a few frontline training dates in November at various locations, some in police stations and some in management suites/ conferance suites that are in shopping centres and business centres. What would be appropriate dress for these kinds of training locations?

Following on from this thread: http://www.policespecials.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=113355&pid=1938586&st=0entry1938586 What is Hampshire's policy on fast roads training?

Have Country Watch officers an official spokesperson that is a PCSO!?! The reason I ask this, I've been reading articles in such journals as the Daily Echo & Lymington Times. When articles appear regarding the under 40 campaign in the New Forest, there is always a small statement on the campaign made by this PCSO.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/fareham-and-meon/Cannabis-factory-found-by-police.6619944.jp Police were called to a burglary - and found a cannabis factory set up inside the home. Officers made the discovery as they investigated reports of a suspected raid on a house in Shearwater Avenue, Fareham. A Hampshire Police spokesman said they found 'a large amount of cannabis' being cultivated at the property. Police believe four or five men were involved in the burglary. They now want to trace two Vauxhall cars seen leaving the area at speed shortly after the incident was reported. As well as the burglary, officers also want to trace those behind the cannabis den. They are …

10 Weeks today, so I ring recruitment to find out how my applicaiton is going. Medical DONE Vetting DONE Two of the 7 references have not replyed one a old school the other a large company I used to work for. This makes me really angry as they have had 10 weeks!!!! To make it worse I was told a couple of other specials are stuck on vetting because of the same college, A couple of years ago I nearly lost a job because of this college failing to provide references I had to go down there and do it myself! So I ring them and of course its half term they have all gone home. :D :strop:

On my training weekend we were talking how we have not got handcuff holders yet but we will be getting them son. Then someone said that hants are trying to persuade officers to use the pocket on the stab vest which is designed for hundcuffs instead of the holder but as i have not yet been operational yet is this just a rumour that has been going for ages. Is there any officers out there who dont use the holder

Im a transfer application from the Met had my final interview in April, my fitness in May and waiting for my medical on the 15th June. I did originally apply in jan 2007 with Hampshire moved it to the Met during Hampshires freeze and then back early this year after being in the Mets big freeze. So whos next? Dan

Hey All, I'm not normally a huge police vehicle spotter, I know the forces fleet, but don't go out of my way to see them. When driving to work the other evening I saw an unmarked 5 door 2003 Vauxhall driving through Southampton. I was just wondering which department/unit used such an old vehicle? Is it RPU? I have never seen it before, apart from on the old school road wars! Thanks all, Chris.
