With work I occasionally drive a van, which its speed limit for a dual carriageway is 60mph. As the A3(M) is 'motorway standard', does this mean a van could therefore drive at 70mph? Also, where do learner drivers stand on using a road like this?

Hi guys, So pre employment modules completed, vetting forms sent off, anyone happen to know when the next induction dates are? Also, am I correct in believing that the process is Induction - Training (both workbooks and sessions)-attestation (once training and vetting is completed successfully). Cheers!

With the ever increasing integration of the Special Constabulary into the regular force, will a time come when there will be no need any longer to have a specials rank structure? With the relatively recent introduction of the SCEPAC, could it be argued that regulars are now central to a specials development, where as previously specials were left to their own devices? I know many SGT's now consider their specials to be part of their shift. Is it only a matter of time before they take compete ownership of their specials in a formal sense? After all PCSOs are dealt with by SGT's and don't have their own management structure - I know I am simplifying the comparison greatly…

Hampshire's top cop, chief constable Alex Marshall, is to leave the force next year. The news of his departure was revealed today following an announcement in the House of Commons by Home Secretary Theresa May that he will take up a new role nationally.Mr Marshall has been chief constable in Hampshire since October 2008 and has been responsible for overseeing drastic cutbacks to the force, including closing police stations and selling off buildings while also reducing staff numbers. He will remain in the same rank in his new job as he is appointed the chief executive designate with the new National College of Policing - a role he will take up in early 2013. No announce…

Hi everyone. I'm brand new here. I'm would like to apply for Hampshire specials, and ultimatly join hampshire constabulary as a regular officer. I understand that Hampshire are not recruiting for either of these roles at the moment. I was wondering if there is anything I can do in the mean time as opposed to just waiting around waiting for the next recruitment opportunity? Also, if I did decide to apply as a regular officer first off, then I understand that I will have to complete the PLC course, and I've been in contact with Portsmouth university and they do not run this course anymore. The nearest course I can find is in Guilford? Thanks in advance, Maryanne
