So travelling back from my hometown today (Southampton), driving merrily along the m3, an unmarked vw golf whizzed past me with covert blue lights activated and a siren going. Anyone got any idea who it belongs to? Purely out of curiosity, seemed a strange choice of vehicle!

Hi guys, I have attended induction A on the 16th of December, and was wondering when/how I get my module workbooks?? I did email Hampshire Constabulary to ask this but have gotten no response since the 17th of December. Just wondering if they come in the post, or are they now online workbooks or something?? Thanks!!

I am due to start the PLC course in the next month or so. Is it still worth doing? With the College of Policing now set up I have a strong feeling that the PLC will be replaced with something else soon.

Hi all, I've been having a look at the Issued Uniform List which can be found in the recruitment forum. Is that list, which doesn't appear to have been updated for over a year, accurate from a Hampshire Police point of view? Whilst we're on the subject of uniform, what do you think of the new style fleeces and stab vests?

Hi If you are an SO wearing a tunic to attestation for example, is it a custodian you should have on or flat cap? and part related, if you are wearing a flat cap and you are an RPU officer do you still wear the white hat cover? Many thanks

In the Chiefs road show he mentioned that Hampshire would be moving to the national standard rank structure for Specials. I've just realised the significance of this. Are we likely to have to wear SC crowns?

Hi! Couldn't see a simple forum that can be applied to Hampshire constabulary regarding specials and driving. There probably is somewhere but am fairly new so haven't got to grips with the site yet. My question is what are the rules relating to specials being able to drive police cars if there are any? Is age a factor at all? Is the length of service a factor? What sort of cars can they drive? Look forward to hearing the answers to this. Thanks!

Hello Just wondering if any trainees have dates for UDT 2 and/or UDT 3 sessions?

Today's the day.... things change.... again!! I'm on my 3rd set of T60's and 61's this year alone, and now the law has changed with some of the following: £60 to new EFPN £100 penalty: Tailgating / careless driving Mobile phone whilst driving No seatbelt £30 up to £50 NEFPN: Failing to give way at a junction Failing to correctly display car tax £200 to £300: Driving without insurance There may be more?..... Anyway, is this going to be a re-issue of T60's or is this just a case of using new offence codes?

Just wondered what the feeling was about our Senior Special Ranks (AO, DCSO, CSO) - do we see them enough? do they communicate enough to us? I was speaking to another SC recently and we sort of decided it was OK but couldn't quite pin down how we would change it or what we really needed to change..... what are the thoughts? .....
