Hi all, Got my last Gateway workshop next week and just wondered a couple of things about the mock- does it take the same format as the real thing or is it more informal? And do you get to go through it afterwards or do you find out how you got on at a later date? Just curious! Thanks

I have my custody attachment on Monday as part of the final training before i attest next month. Now ive never been to lyndhurst nick and im just hoping someone can help me.. When i get there where do i park? My S/O said to just go in the back door at the police station... Now due to only having my ID card i cant open doors so will there be a bell for me to ring? or will i have to wait for someone to pass by by chance? Thanks

Hey all, I'm booked onto the induction B on May 14th And just ordered my boots for the occasion . I was just wondering whether they will expect a parade shine on boots or will a light layer of polish be okay? Only reason I ask is I don't want to get picked up for looking a bag of spuds nor do I want to be earning myself any nicknames this early on for being visible from space! :whistle2:

Firstly sorry if this one has be raised before, Does anyone know weather it is possible to get a vest or harness issued to carry belt kit on ? I know hants specialist units (FSU, ARV etc) are issued them, have any serving specials been issued one or is it even know to of happened?? Reason being at the moment I have got all of my kit on my stabbie via klickfast docks which I have stitched on, not the most professional look in the world but due to recent back problems which are made worse with a duty belt I was wondering if any has been issued one and how they went about it any help would be really appreciated. Dear Hampshire I live in Sussex and am looking to apply as a special. I bumped into a special who is based in Portsmouth who said that there was a recruitment drive in Hampshire, has anyone heard something similar? Am I even allowed to apply if I live in Sussex?

Hi anyone been trained on hand held speed camera as a special. I've been told that SNT officers are entitled but can't track down who to email? Cheers!

Hi Guys and Gals Just thought id introduce myself as ive been on here a while and not really spoke up. My names simon and I undertook my assessments day on the 12th as the title suggests so i am now Anxiously awaiting my results, How long did people wait for their results i know it can take up to 20 days but some have said on here its only been 7 days ??? Evening all, hope you don't mind me popping in! I've got an interview on Friday (not police related sadly) and my only means of transport is on my bike. I don't really want to turn up with all my gear, so hoping someone knows of somewhere I can get changed and leave my stuff? For some reason I seem to remember there being lockers at West Quay, but no idea if this is true or not, as I've not been there for years. If I can't find anywhere, what are people's thoughts on turning up with my bike gear? (Rucksack, lid and jacket, trousers will be in rucksack) and asking to leave it somewhere there? Thanks .

So the PCC Simon Hayes has set aside £100,000 for tasers for frontline officers in Hampshire. However, the Chief Constable Andy Marsh will make the final decision as to who gets the training. Will we humble specials be included? Would you want to be taser trained? Will it turn into a battle to get us the training, like it was with the compliant blue light stop training? I can personally see it getting rolled out to area car drivers first and then if there's money in the pot other regulars....and then specials (if any money is left/ operational requirements justify it). Thoughts people?

Hi all, I have my gateway exam on the 19th March and, provided all goes well (fingers crossed), have been told a provisional date for induction B from one of the people at gateway. Provided this date goes ahead I wouldn't be able to attend because of work commitments. Does anybody know if they run a number of dates? And if they don't or the rest are unsuitable can you start foundation without having attended induction or is it a req? Cheers, Matt

Can I make a suggestion to the users on here that have their personal name and photo displayed on their profile....don't do it. From looking around the majority of you that do are yet to embark upon training etc. When you do you will be given advice and input on online security. While it is ultimately a personal preference/ decision as to whether to display such information, the Constabulary strongly advise against it for good reasons. ....and some of you have your DOB clearly displayed!

Hi all, I was inducted on the 26th Jan and my gateway is wrapping up this week and although my medical is now booked for the beggining of April, the only word I have received re vetting is an email telling me that social networking screening was complete and generic advice about privacy etc. Most of the people on my intake have had their medical and vetting clearance already. I was just wondering why it might have taken this long, my thinking is that they've either found something really juicy (that i'm unaware of) or that with my medical being so late I might just be at the bottom of the pile. Does anyone know whether its usual to be left this late or do they generally …

Just a quick query about the closing of the Portswood police station. I know the front desk was closed last year, much to the protest of local residents and students, but the station itself still seems to be open and operational. Just wondering does anybody know if its still going to close fully or not?? It's my first choice of station when/if I get attested so would love to know any info. Thanks!
