Booked on to be attested on the 13th March, anyone else on the same?

Hi guys, I'm new to this. and I've seen so many related topics regarding this, but they're not very similar to my problem. I have my medical for the specials on March 20th and I understand you need a target BMI of 30 and below. Two years back I was a 22stone rugby player (although fairly fat but very fit, strong and muscly upper body and leg wise..) I've safely lost 7 stone in two years and never received any health problems from being heffa that I once was. I haven't drank anything alcoholic in around eight months (boring I know) and I train crossfit and go for runs at the gym 4-5times a week. I'm fairly broad but no way am I like a brick outhouse with rippling muscle…

With talk of these coming back I am just wondering what the Pro's are to having personal issue. Obviously you will not run the risk of turning up at the station and find no radio are left but are there any others? I am not serving yet but I am guessing you can't just switch them on at home and listen in.

First of all, 1) Across the county, what is the round about split of specials allocated SNT/TPT? The reason I ask is that unfortunately I cant really afford to hang around anymore for however many years waiting for recruitment to open up so will be applying for RMP, and with the bulk of their work being public order and response when not on tour i'm thinking that TPT might be a bit more relevant, i'm thinking that with my current job etc most of my shifts will be night time tours so am wondering whether this might influence my allocation a bit. (not sure whether the SNT's stay on all night?) 2) Secondly, how long does foundation generally take? I've only got another 4/5…

Just to let you know, this is scrapped in the 2013 budget.

Hi Folks, Im still a fair way of getting into the specials, i still haven't passed my assessment yet! (Its on the 12th though! Yay!) Im just curious as to what sort of split there are for specials doing SNT & TPT in Southampton? (Mainly the city centre area) And if you get to choose a preference as to which one you'd like to start with?

Hi All, I couldnt see anything but i was just wondering how many specils with IDP would like to gain more skills/training from the Hantspol and if so what would you like to do and why? I do feel that although specials can drive police vehicles and be cycle trained on SNT, we dont really get given an oppertunity to gain more specific skills. I know theyre training RPU specials on speed guns and marine unit special get quite alot of specialist training, but i do think that alot of specials would feel more valued if the force trained them on other areas. I look forward to reading all your replies

Hi all, Just wondered if anyone else on here is attending?

Do any specials from Hants have annual professional development profiles that get reviewed by their specials management? Things like strong skills, areas that need developing, training requirements etc.

Hi guys, Random question, I am just starting the Gateway program (first workshop on Thursday yay!) and I'm looking at printing out the workbooks. What was the best/cheapest way people found to print these all out?

I have been looking in Kit Corner about this question but I think it's more force specific from what I've seen. Really just want to know if anybody knows the force policy on sunglasses, the bit of paper I got about uniform mentions that they can't be mirrored (which mine are :new_thmbdn2: ) but not that we can't wear them and not that they have to be up to certain 'toughness'/shatterproof etc. I see on the forums that a lot of other forces only allow them for driving purposes but I find I end up squinting in the summer and then get a headache from that or does the custodian/flatcap help a lot...any thoughts?

THE £9.2m ‘white elephant’ building proposed for a new police headquarters in Hampshire could be on the verge of being sold off. Alpha Park in Chandler’s Ford was controversially bought five years ago – at £3m more than it was valued - and was set to become home to more than 200 staff. But the site has sat empty ever since while police authority bosses reconsidered what to do with it and whether part of the building should in fact be sold off. Fresh plans were recently unveiled to once again use the entire site and transform it into a police campus housing a vehicle workshop, force enquiry centre and IT department. Meanwhile Hampshire taxpayers have picked up a bill of …
