Hi it's been a while since I've posted on here, I've had to take some unexpected time off from training due to some health issues recently, Finally continuing on Sunday, after what feels like a long time! The rest of my group have all moved on and most attested, so was just wondering if anyone on here is going on Sunday?

Hello, Does anyone know whether the self service bit of the intranet can be used to place orders for ill fitting uniform? I have lost some weight since being issued my trousers which were big to begin with but are now way too big in the waist (to the point my belt cant hold them )and baggy in the leg. Does anyone know whether stores replace unifrom that is ill fitted and how long orders normally take? Thanks

Hi all! Just a quick question about observer shifts. I have completed all PST training sessions apart from the exam and First Aid 1,2 and 3 sessions and am due to attest next month. I have an observer shift tomorrow night and asked the Sgt if I should attend in uniform or civilian clothing, and the Sgt asked if I am "authorised to wear uniform", if so then yes, I should wear it. Am I authorised to wear uniform or not to an observer shift? Thanks and looking forward to hearing an answer :new_yummy:

Hello, My self and another special were pondering the rate of PC recruitment, we are both interested anyway as its something we would both like to get into, but also, how do they maintain numbers with officers leaving at one end (retirement/dismissal/resignation whatever) and none coming in externally until 2016 at the earliest. There must be some significant reliance on HC staff/specials wanting to study for the PLC and for some to even take a pay hit for more hours? Thanks Matt

Hi all! I applied to join Hants specials in the last recruitment window (closed 30th Sep). Monitoring my application online I was shortlisted for the next stage and would be contacted shortly! That update was two weeks ago and now I've not heard anything yet! Has anyone else applied at this time and if so what is the status if their application? Also does anyone know of the next AC dates and when I might receive further information from the recruitment team? Louie

Had RMS training this weekend and have found the sessions to be the worst training I've experienced to date. I'd just like to point out that the instructor was fantastic, no gripes there. The lesson content, though, was exceptionally poor and was simplistic to the point of nearly being patronising. :new_please: The fact that every single person scored 100% on all the assessments should be an indication of how simple the course is. Once you know how to use the 'detailed find' function, you know how to use it for People, Addresses, Units and pretty much everything else. Yes, the input screens vary but the concepts are the same and people should be able to find their w…

.... However Hampshire have failed because I didn't score high enough on the written exam (was so gutted!) I received an overall score for the assessment day, 61% and 78%. I have been re-invited to the assessment centre to retry again in July.. so was just wondering if I could get any tips for the written exam for those who've passed it. Reading + writing in just 20 minutes is alot to do compared to real life when writing reports and whatnot! Thanks! Jamie

Has any emails been sent out for this yet? I am keen to offer my services and have missed out the last 3 years. I live in Southampton but my station is up north so normally miss out on the emails. If anyone knows who is organizing the specials this yet. Get in touch

Hi, I received an email re Boomtown duties in August, I am not attesting until June but would I be able to put my name down for a couple of tours or will there be an issue due to me officially being a trainee for a while yet? I'm writing a cadet lesson about the history of the Police and the rank structure. I wanted to get a load of the epaulettes with all the rank insignia for them to sort in a group exercise including the Specials ranks structure. I did a google and found that the all the images were low resolution raster jpegs etc that simply didn't scale to the size I wanted to use them. I literally found that there were no SVG or other vector images that I could use. So I've spent around 10 hours with a friend of mine redrawing them from scratch. Hi everyone! Just wanted to shout from the roof tops that I shall be attesting, along with about 19 other Specials, on 7 May. The application and training process has been long and drawn out but, after nearly two years, it's a great feeling to be coming out the other end. It will be a real shame to leave some good mates behind but there's always front line training to catch up and share stories.
