Hampshire Constabulary

Hi guys Just want to thank everyone here for all of the advice that they've given me over the last months to help me get in and start succeeding. Just found out a few days ago that I've passed everything and been confirmed as independant

Good day, Just a question - how many times can a person fail the specials assessment centre?.. till hampshire pretty much say 'no more' and having to wait a few years for the somewhat ban to retry to be lifted? (<this is my guessing) I recently found out I didn't achieve the score required to progress onto the fitness test & I am fully aware that there probably wont be another requirement stage for some time... (yay for budget cuts!) so I am just wondering to either try again in the future or just leave it this time.. I have failed 3 times now - which is quite embarrassing and frustrating, especially when I have friends who passed it with flying colours and be in…

We now have our own official twitter account... @HantsSpecials http://www.twitter.com/HantsSpecials Please follow if you are a twitter user There is a small team of SC's that have been given training and will start tweeting from this account. The aim is to raise awareness about who we are and what we do. If you feel you have something that might be worth tweeting about, please contact your SO who can pass this on to your DO. DOs will be emailed info on how to contact the specials tweeters in the next couple of days.

So did anyone else hear the DCSO talk about the Specials Resourcing Unit at the Eastleigh district management meeting yesterday? Any thoughts on it? I must admit, I'm not sure about the whole community first responder deployment thing.

Any of you guys on here? Just wondering what it's like in practise I am guessing you are usually just passengers in the car when out on patrol? Do you get involved with investigations etc? I have a week attachment with RPU in a few weeks so will learn more then but wondered if any of you are on here.

We are currently recruiting for new special sgts in Reading. If you are from the Berkshire area and are keen to transfer we would be delighted to welcome you. Reading is Britain's biggest town which provides a variety of Policing from response to traffic. Please PM me for more details

If anyone is doing PST foundation mod 3 lesson 7 tomorrow can they PM me as soon as possible please! Thanks in advance

Hi All, I just wonder if people can clarify what the dress code is for the attestation ceremony? My girlfriend is worrying about going over dressed. I know what I will be wearing (uniform) but can people give examples of what the guests should wear? Thanks! Mark

Hi All, I'm starting my Foundation training in September and have recently received my collar number :D . On the e-mail it told me how to log in to the MLE system to complete some pre-course workbooks; I received another e-mail about an hour later saying that there were issues with the logins for everyone on my intake and that they would e-mail back shortly when resolved... I was just wondering if anybody out there had received an e-mail saying that the issue had been resolved? It's been about 2 weeks since the first set and I've heard nothing. Scrumpydoo84

So this has hit the news: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-27138187 The first groups started last night and Tuesday and it seems pretty promising especially with the young people that we have. So who is aware of this?

Is anyone going to the above course this weekend and know what to expect? I've done a G28 and all the associated writing for it and went to a high risk misper with my tutor the week before last. Is it basically just instruction on what do do at these jobs?

One of the issues that the Specials SMT and training dept have is the fact that many SCs simply don't turn up to their booked training. This leads to trainers coming in on overtime having small groups that simply aren't economically viable. I find this highly frustrating for a couple of reasons: 1) it becomes a focus of regular and Specials SMT to get this sorted (which I agree with) but often to the detriment of further progressing the SC as a whole. 2) It undermines the efforts to professionalise the SC and damages our reputation. You get opinions like if SCs can't turn up to training, why should we invest in expensive training when we can't get the basics right? …

Hello, I was just wondering if anybody on here is booked in to either of the September 2014 cohorts?...

Good day, Just a quick question on the above title, I have to attend a Specials Recruitment Event before my actual Specials assessment day... and I am guessing this is new with the new built system they have with recruitment as I didn't have to attend one of these before. My question is - does anyone know what this event is going to be about? And perhaps a suggested dress code?... does the 'no jeans' rule still apply considering it is located at Netley for this type of event. The E-mail I got doesn't state why the event is needed.. I am heading to this event tomorrow - so it will be an interesting experience, I'm sure. Kind regards, Jamie

Has anyone used Smart Forms yet ? Apparently we are supposed to use this now to write our Police Officer statements. I wasn't aware, nor have I been shown how to use it.....
