Hi Folks, Recently joined the forum and hoping someone could offer some advice. I have an application to join the specials with GMP ongoing and I have the fitness test coiming up. As this is an application to join a force does this prevent me from applying for the full time roles as per the 6 month rule or does that only apply to full time places? Cheers for any info

Morning ladies and gents. Just an introductory post incorporating a few question's :-) Firstly, I hope everyone's application's for the current recruitment drive are going well. Last year I left a HO force after 7 years as a reg after waiting for transfer opportunities for what seemed like an eon. Prior to Reg duties I served as a special for 7 years. I can safely say that I do miss certain aspects of the job (but not the 4am town duties etc). Whilst serving I had monitored the CNC site and I can see the huge difference in core job role, however I feel it would be the job for me. I gather the applications have to be in for Friday so I best get a move on. Wh…

Hi all Awaiting my medical and should all go well and I receive an offer I have a feeling it'll be for Torness. Anyone work/live up or near there who has any info of places to live/things to do? It'll probably be a case of me working up there and coming home as much as possible (north east england) - I can't really look to settle up there permanently at the minute because of other circumstances, but I'd be happy to take the offer for my career. Does this sound feasible or unrealistic? Also does anyone know what the place is like? As I have never been. Will have to take a trip up there sometime soon before any further developments. New topic for progress/questions for new applicants applying in the 2014 recruitment drive.

Morning all, I received an email yesterday inviting me back into the recruitment process after having been told I had not passed the competency part of the application. Is there anybody else on the same boat? I had Hunterston and Torness as my locations.

I have just been offered a place on a course for sellafield starting on November 10th providing I pass my medical. Has anyone else been offered a place on the same course?

Folks, wondering if anyone has had experience of this: I injured my shoulder a few days ago. Think it's going to take a few weeks to heal, any ideas how this might affect my medical?
