Hi, I currently have an application on going and upon submitting my medical forms I declared that I have high frequency hearing loss as it has been flagged up on previous medicals for SC and then again for PCSO. I have now been notified that it has gone to RAP, Can anybody give me a rough idea of how long this takes as I'd hate to miss out on the sellafield vacancies because of this. Thanks in advance.

Hi folks, I'm a regular on Scotland, I've applied for the CNC and just waiting to hear back. Would appreciate feedback (how they found the process, pros/cons, etc) from anyone either in the same position, or further down the line, or, indeed, anyone who's actually up and running at their site. Cheers in advance.

Have recently been told CNC are recruiting and I'm seriously considering applying but I'm just after some further info about the CNC. I'm fully aware you do little to no policing but one thing that interests me is the unique and specific role the CNC do. I've just started as a Special with BTP and I'm pretty much set on the idea of not working for a HO force as I'd like to be involved in specific policing in the way BTP and CNC are, also with BTP there are chances to transfer to different area's - is this something that could be done in the CNC. Any advice you guys could offer before I start the application process would be much appreciated Thanks

Hi, I have some questions about the CNC. Q1: What is the difference between Operational Units and Support Units? - I only ask because I hope to get based in Hunterston as it is conveniently close but learned the CNC based at Hunterston is a Support Unit. Q2: They say being a Police Officer is 24/7 and even when officially off duty they unofficially are not off duty, does this apply to the CNC? - for example if I saw a crime taking place whilst in a bar with mates, lets say the crime is assault, would I as a Police Officer be able to intervene and calm the situation before the local Police arrive? Q3: What are the benefits? - How is job security? pension…

Hi, I am considering what Police Force I would like to join and the CNC is one that I have kept an eye on. I understand it's not entirely the same as the HO Forces with regards to frontline policing but their is something unique and different about the role that attracts me to it, I think it's because it has a specific purpose and plays a huge part in people's safety despite not being in the public eye and mingling with the public 24/7 like the BTP or territorial Police Forces. Anyway, I have a few questions. What is the difference between Operational Units and Support Units? - I only ask because I hope to get based in Hunterston as it is conveniently close but learne…

Hi all, my name is Dan and I am currently serving in the Royal Military Police. I am considering a change of career and a new life as a civilian, mainly so I can settle in one place with my wife and son. I have a few random questions which may seem odd but I know I am in for a shock leaving the army. When you apply for a position at a particular unit is there any chance of being shafted and posted to a complete opposite location? I am interested in Hinkley Point, is there any favourable areas to buy houses as I would like to compare prices to here in Fareham? Obviously a certain level of fitness is required for the job but I was wondering if you get time to work on y…

Hi people. Most of the latest vacancies are up in Scotland or right down south. I have applied for Hunterston just to hopefully get the ball rolling but with a view of getting into sellafield after the FA course if sucessful. What's Hunterston like?
