Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had to travel to Culham from Scotland to the assessment centre? I have my assessment on the 26th of January and I'm sure I seen on this forum that some had there AC local to them. I'm travelling from Edinburgh and its looking like a 6-7 hour drive, I'll also have to get accommodation the night before all paid for out my pocket. Do you think it worth while phoning the recruitment team and asking if there is anywhere closer I could conduct the AC?? Thanks in advance Cammy

Hi all, Just had my assessment on Saturday, and i think i met a few of you on here, so fingers crossed you all pass (including myself). Annoyingly though there was one question i forgot to ask in the haze of the interview process which was, 'What is the difference between operational and support units?' The site I've applied for is 1 of the 3 operational units, but am none the wiser on what separates them apart (although doesn't make a blind bit of difference as i cant change now) . Hi I've got my assessment day this month on the 19th, anybody else due to attend?

Hello to all. I am currently going through the application stage for CNC. I applied last June and have recently been invited to the assessment day, which is 2 weeks today. I have not had any further correspondence since confirmation of the date and was looking to see if anyone has any information what the day consists of. I have done the normal SEARCH assessment day when I previously joined a home office force, but not sure if CNC use this to date. Any advice or help is much appreciated. Darren.

Good evening, I was wondering if anyone who is based at Sellafield would be able to provide me with a bit more information. I was considering applying for the CNC at Sellafield however I was wondering what the average take home wage is per month for a new Constable based there when level allowances, mandatory overtime etc... is taken into account. Hi, I'm currently in the middle my application and waiting to go to my assessment center. I am applying for a role at Sellafield and have a couple of questions regarding the job and living near Sellafield. I'm 27 married with 2 children, we are open to moving up to this area its an area of the country we both love. But we are also looking into the possibility of my wife and children staying here in Sheffield where we are both from. My understanding the job is 12 hours 2days 2night and 4 off, with a pattern like this I am thinking maybe I could stay in the area maybe house sharing etc whilst working the 4 on and then moving back to Sheffield for the 4 off. I passed my assessment for AFO last December expecting to be starting last March at Harwell.......yet here I am still waiting!! Does anybody on here know how long your pass stands for from your pass date?? As it looks like I could have a way longer to wait and dont really fancy re-assessing

I know I may get a lot of criticism with this post, however, I am just asking about thoughts of serving members of the CNC. I have some hearing damage from previous military experience, Do any of you have this condition or if anyone has had to leave the CNC to avoid the risk of making the condition worse?

I'm at the application stage as a transferee from the Met. Can anyone tell me what the previous sickness/ absence threshold is for recruitment specifically into CNC? There's plenty of info regarding other forces policies but I can't find anything for CNC. I'm aware that this isn't even looked at until after a conditional offer is made and I'm aware of one transferee being deselected 2 weeks before training started because his previous force references highlighted 5 short term absences over the last 3 years!! Brutal!!! So the question is..... does anyone know what the threshold actually is? Is it max 3 absences over 3 years or something else. Cheers
