A lot of people who I have spoken to, outside of this forum, say the CNC is boring. Territorial Police Services, and especially the Specialist service British Transport Police. I personally don't believe the CNC are boring, now everyone to their own so I am not having a dig, but I am surprised at the overwhelming numbers who have said the CNC are boring. What are your opinions and thoughts?

Hi guys just a quick question for any serving CNC officers. Could anybody tell me if there is any height restrictions for officers to use the ballistic shield? I was told that if you're over 6 foot they would rather you didn't use it so could anybody shed any light on this? Cheers

Hi all Quick question I've heard a couple of times CNC officers are on employment contracts when they join, not joined indefinitely and that the contracts just get renewed when the time runs up. And specifically that it's a 3 year contract unless you have a 5 year contract if you have a secondary skill. But I can't find this information anywhere unfortunately? Is this true? Thanks

Morning chaps, Can anyone advise if I am given an offer ect for sellafield, do you complete the 16 week training and travel home for the weekend and then look to move after the training period or would you move sharpish? I am about 2 and a half hours from sellafield and plan to move to St bees area once I start properly after training. I would prefer to do the training then move afterwards ideally. Hello there, as a bit of a geek I collect police badges and patches etc. I have always had an interest in the UKAEA Police/CNC in particular. I was just wondering if you still are issued with Custodians since the introduction of the more military style uniforms. I have seen a few photos and they always seem to show officers wearing baseball caps. Thanks in advance.

Hi chaps, Was just wondering if anyone else is going for the dounreay or sellafeild positions? I have my physical, medical and assessment all on the 1st December so I'm a nice blend of excited and nervous. Anyone gonna be joining me or has just joined? C

Hi, I live in the North west and have recently taken an interest in the cnc. I see that they are recruiting for Dounreay at the moment but that is too far away for me to be an option. Does anybody know if they will recruit for the Sellafield site in the near future as that would be more practical for me? Any information would be great, Thanks in advance.

I'm going to post it here seen as your trained AFO's after your initial training with the CNC. Well I hope that's right from what I've seen on here and Internet. So my question why do AFO's keep their trigger finger just resting on the trigger guard? Is it for quick reaction? Safety? Are you trained to do this? It seems that this is the standard way of holding the gun.

I've had a quick look on the website but haven't been able to find anything specific. Does anyone know what their policy is on laser eye surgery? I know that the armed forces kind of accept certain types and you will be downgraded for a year, is it roughly the same with the CNC? wanttobecnc

Hi all, posted this in another post and thought you'd find it interesting: Hey guys, I used to be a PCSO and begun the process to join the CNC before dropping out and moving to the USA. I work as an ARV at a nuclear site currently (won't say where as there are restrictions on what info you can give out). The guy above about the glasses - not a problem although you may have to have a second pair installed into your gas mask. And if you've got one of those hideous man beards you might have to trim it or shave it off so you can get a good seal on the mask. As someone said above, you do have to run or be deployed a long distance in the event of an emergency. Not …

Hi folks, got my assessment on 1st of December for CNC sellafeild both medical and fitness and firearms etc, could anyone give me a heads up as to what to expect? I'm 16 st7 lbs and losing weight quite quickly, could anyone also tell me my ideal weight for passing? I'm quite physically fit and am easily breezing past 7.6 on bleep test. Just have a bit of a belly on me! Thanks in advance!
