Just wondered why CNC officers are not normally able to transfer to other forces? My current force are taking transferee firearms officers and the advert is very clear that CNC can not apply but MOD officers can. Obviously I don't know the ins and outs of each force but a lot of the work seems similar so is there something different in the training which means CNC can't transfer?

Hi all, Ok so i have an application in for the CNC sent on June 1st, does anyone in the application process know roughly how long it will be till I hear if I was successful or not?

I have my application started, having troubles rattling the brain to think of examples for the competency section.

Hi Read on BBC that CNC Fed have mounted a legal challenge which has gone to high court. Basically looking at bringing CNC officers pension age down to 60yrs and in line with H.O forces. Certainly interesting, as I think ot stands a good chance of winning. If successful i'd have thought the officers monthly contributions would increase to compensate. Probably to 11-13%. Does anyone know what CNC officers contribute now? For prospective recruits its got to be good news, as i'd have thought recruitment numbers would have to be increased to compensate for those officers leaving earlier than projected.

hello all i have a couple of questions with my CNC application before i submit it, they are whether it is essentil to have a full manual drivers licence before applying because im currently going through my test for it now, also if anyone has any links to where i can find rules on criminal records? Hello, I'm in the CNC application process (Dungeness) but I've noticed that the site is due to be decommissioned in 2028. I know this is a fair way off at the moment, but what happens to CNC officers there after that point? I want a long-term policing career but don't think I would want to up sticks and leave the county in just over 10 years with all the family upheaval that could entail... Any helps appreciated, thanks in advance

Ok can someone shed some light on this, I know you cannot apply to two home office police forces at one time, however what is the ruling on home office application and non home office like CNC together?

Hi Anyone on here working at, or recently worked at Harweill as CNC officer? I'm looking at it as a posting option if I pass A/C. Just general info on working envioroment, nearby accommodation, gym, canteen etc...

I passed my assessment in December and was expecting a training start in March. Just before xmas I received an email stating that the March training was filled (with Dounray I believe). My dream posting is Harwell as I live In Reading...anyone out there gone for same site?? I have been told to expect a wait but I did receive a phone call out of the blue Friday 1st April from HR checking that I was still interested in continuing my application. Did anyone else receive the same call?? Im hoping this may be because they are consolidating their resources and could be looking to start allocating some of us poor fools :-)

Hello everyone, This is my first post although I have been browsing for a long time, I would like to firstly thank all of the site users that have given such great advice that I have really taken into consideration with my career choice.
