Hi all, Are the foreign office secondments, where British police officers travel on EULEX missions to Kosovo and Pakistan/Iraq solely available to regulars. I work for the Met specials and have language skills along with a degree in politics and international relations, further with some experience with political organisation stuff. Anyone with information on how to get involved or if you have had previous experience with this, please Pm me. Cheers,

We are approaching the Specials community (with permission from Policespecials.com) seeking support for a Specials officer who we believe has been treated very poorly by his force. He has been informed that his S/Superintendent post and rank (alone) has been discontinued with immediate effect. There is no disciplinary or performance issue nor was any explanation given by the force. His options as offered were to revert to Spc or leave the organisation. As specials do not have an equivalent staff association to the Federation (or Unison), he has been forced to take legal action to protect his position, and the wider interests of all Specials. The action relates to the le…

Hi, it's for the Metropolitan Police. As an SC the initial shine has worn off, and I can now see the job for what it is. When you joined as a PC and were getting paid, did it improve your satisfaction/happiness, or was it just the same old stuff? Cheers

I'm sorry, I'm not sure where is best to post this. I am about to start my training as a Special with TVP, I want to write a letter to two current serving officers who helped me a lot through the application process, I'm just wondering how I should sign it off? Should I put my shoulder number, my Station? How do you sign off letters/e-mails? What information do you put?

I am doing some research about the payment of Specials for a presentation I am giving in the near future. More info about that when the time is right But for now I need to get an understanding of what schemes are being proposed or trialled. I have ploughed through existing payment threads, from which I have found out the following: Police forces definitely running trial schemes Cumbria West Midlands Humberside Grampian Tayside Of these, most seem to be looking at a 180 hour-per-year commitment for which they pay an annual "bounty" of £1,000. Police forces which might be running schemes Surrey TVP South Wales Police And of these, the only in…

Hi all, I recently received my feedback from a recent assessment centre, with an overall mark of 57%. Unfortunately this was not sufficient to progress into my home force, but am aware that other forces may accept this mark. Does anyone know if there is a list of each force's SEARCH mark requirements, rather than trying to inquire with forces separately? Many thanks

I just don't know the answer to this so hopefully someone does Could the legislation that allows NCA to swear specials be used to swear MI5 officers who traditionally had no power of arrest
