hi all!! anyone startin training this thursday? and does anyine know what the induction is like?

Currently a special sargeant and work for another force as a comms operator I recently applied for pcso and regs and was unsucessful! However 3 of my specials who have just come out of training have been selected for pcso roles and came to me for advice and passed the application sift? Am I going wrong somewere!? Hmmmmmm.......

What are people's thoughts that someone who openly advertises their profession as a Solicitor, and their employer as GT Stewart, can post such a message openly on Twitter? I'm all for free speech, but imagine if this woman were active for a claimant in a complaint against you (her firm deals in complaints against Police.) For what it's worth, and if you feel offended enough, you can contact the SRA here or complaint to her firm here (or via e-mail on info@gtstewart.co.uk). I have done both.

Hello all, First of all, not sure if this post is in the right section, so please could somebody move it if so? Today I was in my car, crossing a roundabout.. I see a Thames Valley Police car with his sirens on.. So I stop and let him cross the roundabout.. I then cross over and catch up with him, where further up the road his lights are off and he's sitting in traffic at the lights, the lights go green, then we both join a duel carriage way with a speed limit of 50, he moves into the fast lane and speeds off at around 70! Alot of comments on the video say 'they couldnt see anyone resisting'. Personally I couldn't see anyone comlying! Hola :new_wave: I just wanted an opinion on what peoples experiences/opinions on young PCSO's/PC's joining the police force. I'm in the finial stage of recruitment for BTP as PCSO and should be in training next month. But seeing some people fail because they are not "psychologically ready" made me wonder does being young put you a disadvantage ? So PSD , DPS , CIB ......whatever they call it in your force.... What exactly do they do? I know the basic "Keeping up professional standards". But what kind of activities and duties (if they do any duties) do they do? And what kind of powers do they have? I do happen to know that most PSD staff are Police Officers but do Specials have opportunities to work with them?

Has anyone done any work on setting up a Farm Watch scheme, or any sensible tips on patroling this area. My District Commander has asked me to set something up. I dont work in a particularly rural area, just farms on the outskirts of town. Cheers

First I don't support or agree with any organisations such as EDL / BNP etc. I am aware that you cannot be a member of the BNP and work for the police in any capacity, is this the same for EDL ? Would EDL membership be acceptable for say someone employed in security as I recently noticed that a person who is an EDL member works in security in at a court building. I personally don't think that it is acceptable that someone is employed in court and is a EDL member considering the nature of the what happens in court. Who should you bring this to the attention of ? Rdgs C.

Hi All, I'm trying to find a previous thread of some time ago, which had an interesting post about the stages some go through mentally as a police officer in their career. It was broken down into something like: YEars 1 - 3 : Like a puppy dog all excited running around with a new toy years 4-6 - Settles in and with knowledge and confidence you really enjoy it Years 7-?? Can become dissilussioned.. These are just examples by the way in order to give you the jist of what I'm looking for and not exactly what I remember. I'm using the search function but am having trouble finding it. Can anyone help with this? Cheers B.M.

Hi all, I was wondering this afternoon what sort of duties and events all us Specials undertake with are different forces? Please select from the polls and we'll build up a picture of the different duties we all do. I enjoy working on my Neighbourhood team, either patrolling on foot or on a push bike getting to talk to the locals and helping out with any issues they are having. Then on the only hand I like to mix in a bit of response work just to keep my skills up to the correct standard. If I have missed off the type of duty you under take then please post below :-)
