General Policing Discussions

Obviously i understand the - most people who have a dim view on Police, are usually on the wrong side of the Police. However, looking on various websites, the Police generally have a really bad feeling among the public. Being accused of Corruption, Power hungry, Not knowing the law, bending the rules to suit ourselves, covering up and protecting ourselves. One person even went so bold as to say "We're all people who got bullied at school and this is our way of getting revenge". I realise that we, in scotland, often view with favour that our fed "likes us" and that we are allowed to join; So i when i stumbled upon the Fed's response to the draft version of The Police (Special Constables) (Scotland) Regulations 2008 before it came into force, i couldn't help but find it very interesting. Specifically these 2 tidbits (off-duty powers and uniform) which, understandably, were knocked back by the government; http://www.scotland....569/0024278.pdf Just wondering what everyone's thoughts where? do we, in scotland, view the fed through rose tinted glasses... Are their views really that different from pol fed E&W? Given the huge strides made…

Now before someone shouts at me, I've done a forum search and then searched this topic as well: http://www.policespecials.com/forum/index.php?/topic/102502-diamond-jubilee-medal-announcement/page__p__1751831__hl__+medal%20+diamond#entry1751831 for the mention of coins. As we are all aware officers and staff who have served for 5 years will be receiving QDJ medal (Officers) and QDJ coin (Staff) I was curious to see what the coin looked like so a quick google image search found this from Sussex Police: I personally think that the above coin is very smart therefore my question and the purpose of the topic is: 1) Has anyone on here qualified for the coin? 2) Does yours…

So, I've finally done the quiz. Results will be posted in a couple of weeks, both to the questions and how many people got it right etc. Feel free to participate. Also remember to read the question at the top of the form. PCSOs count as police http://burnsy2023.bl...not-police.html
