The Italians have one and now the Emirates do as well. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/9986411/Dubais-new-police-car-a-360000-Lamborghini-Aventador.html One officer says that the car will mainly be in the tourist areas to show how classy Dubai is.

I have a non conviction disposal on my subject access request form I requested from the Scottish Police force I was nicked by. I was arrested in 2010 when i was 16 when I was a bad lad in Scotland. I was given a 2 year minor police warning for a minor assault (which i was originally nicked for) and for having a tampered ID card (section 25 ID Cards act 2006). As this was in Scotland the legislation differs from E&W and I tried joining the MSC a few times and I kept stating on my form that it was a conviction and the met kept rejecting me. Recently I came to notice after speaking to the disclosure officer that It was not an offence, conviction, caution or a reprimand…

So I was watching Sky Cops earlier on today, and saw a PC taking part in a training exercise with 'Sierra Yankee 99' (South Yorks Heli). His official title appeared to be 'Firearms dog handler'. I had no idea that this job role even existed. I did some research and managed to find an article on Firearms Support Dogs, but found very little in the way of 'Firearms dog handler'. Could someone with any more knowledge elaborate on whether the 'Firearms dog handler' is permitted and trained to carry firearms himself, or does he simply support the Firearms unit with his dog. NOTE: The PC in question didn't appear to be carrying any firearms, however…

I'm sure it is illegal and stupid to change an offside wheel on the motorway. I also know that the Police patrol ramps are not allowed to be used by the public. However today on the M1 i saw a chap on a police ramp putting his spare wheel on, he was well out of harms way and could change the wheel in safety. If a Police car was passing, what would they have done to the offending driver? (curious more than anything.) :new_hmmm:

I was watching one of the (many) UK shows on at the moment and 'discussing with my wife' some of the things on there. My point was that I think they show the general public the sort of things that nave to be addressed, sometimes many things you just wouldn't think would need the police. My wife saw the programs from a different view, i.e. Why is that officer shouting for no reason / there is no need for that many officers / is that excessive force ...... (oh yes, it was a fun evening in my house!) I guess most people on this site will have roughly the same opinions, but my wife, not an officer see things a different way. So, my question is, are the shows giving a good…

I was told a while back that Specials that helped during the torch relay would be getting some form of thanks for this. Has anyone else heard this or even received any form of formal recognition already?

With 2 big high profile news stories in the last 2 weeks that involve police officers or staff in a bad light, do you think this kinda thing changes the public's views and perceptions of the Police in general and won't look at these sort of things in isolation?? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-22057246 Kent youth PCC Paris Brown apologises over 'inappropriate' tweets Paris Brown, 17, was appointed to work alongside Kent's Independent PCC Ann Barnes representing young people across the county last week. Paris said she was "wildly exaggerating" in what could have been considered racist and anti-gay tweets. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-2198734…

It's very long (at over 45 minutes) but very interesting if you have the time, from the man behind the Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) which was expanded across Scotland and is part of the World Health Organisation's Violence Prevention Alliance. He has very recently retired after 39 years on the force.
