I couldn't find a thread for this on ps.com after having done a load of searches. I've just filled in the form on this link. at 192.com One of the problems with the internet is that people can be traced. I was wondering if anyone knew of other sites to add to a 'to-do' list in terms of getting ourselves removed from them?

Hello Havent been on here in a while I recently joined the MPS last October as a PCSO, loving the job I am about to undergo the CKP course you now have to do to apply for a MPS officer... Just wondering if anyone on here has done it already, or is going on a course?? Im sure that the course isn't nationwide as of yet but think it will be rolled out to all of the UK, save the forces some money

Hello everybody, I am new to this forum. I am seeking to get an advice and hints on my future trip here, to United Kingdom. So I thought it will be the best idea to ask Police Officers and people who are interested in law and get advice and avoid all hidden scenarios which may happen. Before posting this topic I have read all articles on DVLA and HMRC also searched a forum on same topics, but found only the one which dealt with EU citizens. I started to study in U.K. in 2007 and was given each time new visa on a new period of study. My new visa for University started on 24th of January 2013. In May I am planning to bring my car from Kaliningrad, Russia to London until…

I remember reading somewhere in the Blackstones manual about officers not needing to know the law word for word, can anyone shed any light on the situation?

Current starting wage in Essex and a link to prove it. I keep being told figures that is 3rd hand information and the recruitment team sent me a link to a government website about police wages.

Hello, I'm currently an SC that now has the chance to put in my application for the regs. I'm a bit unsure about it as over the last 8 years, I've pursued a career in IT however I find policing the most enjoyable and satisfying job I've come across. My heart says that joining the police as a regular officer is what's best, as since I can remember, it's what I've always wanted to do. My head is telling me that there are a lot of downsides to the job and I should just settle for the IT career I've built up, but I just don't enjoy IT anymore and when I'm at my day job, I wish I was policing.. My question is, if you could go back would you join up again? Appreciate the in…

As we all know, the power of constable is a personal thing which can't be turned on or off. The warrant card is just proof of identity. So, when a police officer retires, what legal act unbinds him from the oath of allegiance they swore? Are they still technically sworn into office? I'd love to know more.

There aren't half a lot of acronyms in the police force. Could anyone recommend somewhere with a decent dictionary?

Just thought i'd start a topic to gather a viewpoint of NHS Security Guards at hospitals. Whilst this isn't intended to be a "lets bash security guards" topic i'd be interested to hear your views really. I'm not sure if it's the same everywhere but certainly where I am based I generally visit 3 main hospitals for the usual jobs, S.136, RTCs, Assaults etc and I have noticed that back when we used to wear white shirts and black trousers so did the security guards. When we changed to black t-shirts and black combat pants...so did they! I really think this was a deliberate decision made by their management to make them look as close to police officers as possible possibly …

Hi All, I am sure this will have been asked somewhere on this forum but I currently have an application in with the British Transport Police for a PC (awaiting result) but I am also thinking about applying to Northumbria Police as a Special Constable, Can you have two applications with two different forces or is this just a simple no ? Thanks Paul

Hi all, Whilst watching a VICE documentary I noticed something which seemed a bit strange. at the 00:41:25 mark a man is clearly giving nazi salutes. Why did the officers not react? (The clip doesn't show afterwards so they might have cautioned him then) I am not in any way criticising the officers involed, I am just unsure as to what the law is regarding fascist salutes, can anyone elaborate? The whole documentary in itself is a big eye opener on how destructive drugs can be. Thanks, Carl

Interesting interview here with an ex Met PC - needless to say this is the sort of thing that must fill police PR departments with horror http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/riots-junkies-and-gangs-a-conversation-with-an-ex-met-policeman I'll decline to pass too much comment other than that my overall impression is that while he's probably towards the unpleasant end of the spectrum of people (or to put it more bluntly, he sounds a bit of a knob) his viewpoints are by no means unrepresentative of police officers or "extreme" as PCs go. In fact a lot of the things he says are nearly word-for-word to many things I hear from full time colleagues on a regular basis. He also tack…
