Ladies and Gents of PS.com if you were a Custody Manager and could implement any changes in your custody, what would you do? It could either be changing a process, or assigning more duties to staff members or perhaps something completely different. What would make Custody a more effective department and assist you in your current job role? Views, experiences and ideas are welcome from all. :new_yummy:

MY wife has 5 points on her licence for speeding. I know this is totally against the law and my future role. I have a medical and fitness test this thursday and am hoping to pass that. I just hope my wifes five points doesn't effect me in my career and clearly its not my fault. Any answer would be appreciated.

I stumbled across this video on Youtube, which I found entertaining at how people can be so silly over police "lying" all the way through a £60 fine. The guy clearly has an issue with police, and the video proves the officer isn't lying about such a trivial offence, yet the commenters get in a tiff over it. This type of stuff should be in training as the officer just stands there mostly and fills the ticket out.

Well, folks, it looks like a new Police Force is being gestated by the government. The Borders Bill 2013 had its second airing in Parliament yesterday, in which it states that the Border Agency and Border Force will be renamed and re-established as Her Majesty's Border Police, given enhanced powers and a Police uniform. I imagine it will be a little like the BTP, with powers within ports areas and a limited radius of the port. There will be no requirement to tackle training to deal with certain offences, and at a guess officers will only be required to deal with wanted persons, public order situations, and other minor offences in addition to customs and immigration offe…

Looking or some advice / regs but sadly using my phone makes this a difficult task. I had my late afternoon shift changed for a court case well within the rules of regs, however, I have now discovered at the last minute that the day has been cancelled and my force wants me to revert back to my late shift. The initial notification was over 28 days so no problem there, but now they want to send me back to an afternoon with a days notice. I keep coming up blank trying to find the rules within regulations and can only guess that without my consent to changing back the change of duty rules apply the same. But before I end up having the argument with supervision I wondered of …

Hello all, im not even sure if im in the correct forrum as this is my first time doing this and im looking for some advice. Im currently serving in Royal Engineers, would like to transfer to Royal Military Police. Iv been in RE for nearly 4 years now and basically because i was a joiner on civvy street for 6 year, I was offered a 'golden hello' by the recuitment office of £2500 if i continued by trade in Engineers. I agreed and was then fastracked through my trade training etc. Because of the money and debt at the time i jumped at the chance and went ahead. 3 year down line and im now feeling that i want to learn something new and need a new challenge. So before any …

What are peoples opinions on having SC on your shoulder? I have mixed feelings, I can see the pro's where people like custody sgt's seeing you are a SC and treating you a bit better. Whereas with MOP's it might be better not having SC on your shoulder. My old force had SC. My new one doesnt.

Evening! What extra kit do you buy to supplement the gear you are issued with? I've seen a few specials who have bought LED torches, longer cuff keys and special headphone adapters for the radios. So what I'm asking is what is worth buying and what is worth giving a miss? Cheers!

As a SC are you entitled to the same benefits as a PC if injured or killed on duty? How about if you are injured making an off duty arrest, using warranted powers? -read an interesting article from Adam Simmonds, Northamptonshire's PCC regarding reservists that prompts the question

How did senior officers resond or did you not feel you could "speak out"? http://content.met.police.uk/News/Officer-dismissed-following-racist-incident/1400015713642/1257246745756

Hello -- Apologie if this has already been raised in forum, but I've harassed GMP recruitment enough for the last few weeks. I'm starting next week, but they haven't emailed me the training programme, with compulsory dates. Does anyone know if we have training on the bank holiday weekend? I'm sure my email will come through in the next 24 hours, but if anyone does already have it, I would appreciate someone having a look for me. To clarify - it's the 29/30/31st of March I'm asking about. Thank you!
