Hi, Have any of you serving specials had anything like this, Whilst working not on my regular response team, a PC pointed out that "we don't like specials, all they do is steal over overtime. Segways are not motor vehicle, and are as such not allowed to be insured for the road. As a mechanical propelled vehicle, how does heathrow airport get away with using them in England, as it is an offence to ride a mpv on anyland in England that is accessible to the public? Surely even airports being private land are still public places under the rta? In addition, what is the rules for them on public parks, as some parks now offer Segway experiences, but I do not think they are legal, as these parks such as Hyde park are open to the public. In order to increase my knowledge and awareness about shift planning and organisation, prior to my interview (if I ever get to that stage), I've a few questions for you all. How do new SCs go about organising shifts? Is It expected that an SC will perform a full shift aligned with the timings of his Reg colleagues? When you have a mentor, it is expected that you'll only be on shift with them? Do you organise shifts with specific individuals at a station, a central point at force/div HQ or just turn up and hope for the best? Can you just turn up whenever? I am just wondering, as a police officer, ultimately whose life should you put first in situations which could potentially cost you your life? I guess it largely depends on the situation like if putting your life at risk saved several other lives. But what if you approach a gang armed with hammers and crowbars attacking people and victims lives are at risk? Do you intervene and put your life at risk even though the odds are against you? Obviously you'd call for assistance in such situations but what do you do in the interim? Sorry if this should be in scenario city wasn't sure which board

Hello, RE: Metropolitan Police training. I, like most people who are going to start training am curious about what PC training is like. Any help from anyone who has been through the training, preferably MSC to PC training, could give me some insight into what it's going to be like. E.g the legislation you learn, uniform requirements, when do you find out your chosen borough, how long into training do you get your PC warrant card, What subjects do you study for KEE exams? When do you get your shoulder numbers. The overall vibe of PC training, Any help, insight and comments are appreciated. Thank you
