I understand if there's an active denial to an offence then you need to anticipate a not guilty plea, but am I right in saying you can anticipate a guilty plea if someone has gone no comment in interview if you have good evidence? I ask as I've recently been told my skipper can't ERO a file and must go to CPS as the person went no comment despite being caught on CCTV...

In training yesterday we were discussing Theft and the point around electricity i.e. it's covered by the abstraction section and is commonly caused by people bypassing their meter. Someone asked if the same would apply to bypassing a gas meter. My thinking was that bypassing a gas meter would be straight theft; although gas is of the form gas (rather than a solid or liquid) it is still a tangible item and thus could be stolen as per section 1. I was recently admitted to a mental health ward where another patient grabbed me and kissed me. I was intending to report it to my local station, but the mental health team have told me not to as he has bipolar and it is acceptable behaviour and certainly not assault. My concern is I am not the only woman he has done this to, and although they might not call it assault to me it was. I've done a bit of research into this subject, but I can't find anything concrete, so I figured the best way to find out for certain is to ask somebody who works in the law side of things. I work in retail, and recently (within the past two days) a new warning has appeared on our tills whenever an energy drink is scanned, requesting an ID check to ensure the customer is the correct age to purchase (in this case it specifies they must be older than today's date 1999). We have had some strange occurrances with the ID system before (such as sticky plasters requiring the customer to be 16 or older) so I'm unsure. I know that as an active member of a theatre group I am entitled to buy and use blank firer's and imitation firearms, but does each purchase have to be for an actually, specific production or can I purchase imitation firearms for the use of theatre work without being in rehearsals for a production that requires it?

I'm referring to the episode of 'Traffic Cops' below, two homeless guys have a machete and a fixed blade knife confiscated/destroyed despite there being enough evidence of their legitimate use. OK, one of them did admit to using drugs at some point but none were found/present at the time, the land appeared to be council/a public place so obviously not ideal to set up camp,.....they are Polish so probably wouldn't have known that. OK guys, will try keep this as brief as possible and appreciate your opinion: I (not my "friend" like other posters!) was drunk at a relatively quiet train station on my way home one early evening, running to catch the train. Train departed, I missed it, and expressed frustration with a couple of "choice words", not directed to anyone. I believe there's an act in the PO act that makes signal flares illegal in football grounds. What about being in possession of one for lighting/emergency. Say you have one in your car in case of being trapped on a country road or something like that, are they illegal to carry for safety purposes? Like the ones the Police in the US use to 'cone' of an area of road. What about the signal flares that fire into the sky and drift down on a parachute? Would the fact that they fire something make them illegal? I know you could do illegal things with them, but lets assume they are being used/carried/held for safety purposes.

Approximately two years ago I was arrested and questioned at a Police station, the interview was visually recorded (using DVD). At the end of the interview I was given a photocopied notice, advising me that I could request a copy of the interview. I therefore requested a copy, as I realised conversations were not quite correct during the questioning. The officer told me that I could not have a copy as he was unable to make one. If someone has been riding a motorbike on L plates for a number of years, I assume there is a requirement to do the CBT every so often. What are the CBT intervals and is there some kind of limit as to how often this can be done?

Hi All, You've probably all seen it where someone on a bike has gone through a red light when nothing has been coming in the other direction. My question is, what is the offence?! I've looked through the new TOR and NEFPN CCCJS Codes and the closest I can find specific to pedal cycles is: Pedal Cycle - Contravene traffic sign / road markings. - £30 NEFPN Unless its covered under the new TOR (presumed it was only applicable to Motor Vehicles): Fail to comply with red light/green arrow/intermittent red light/lane closure traffic light signal Any traffic bods around that could help?
