I'm wondering what the offence is, if any? Here's a scenario but not a what if... Security guard asks to see persons photos they've taken as there is a sign up saying no photography, person gives camera over and he formats the card deleting all photo on it. OK, so I know it can be recovered 99% of the time if the person knows how to and this would not necessarily have a cost attached. just a quick query, if you stop a vehicle that has intelligence/markers etc used in drug dealing and you form the grounds to search occupants and vehicle. Short version: I'm living in rented accommodation that I don't want to move out of but have to leave my mountain bike locked up outside. It's now being targeted by thieves and I've twice in 3 months chased off what I think is the same thieves. Hi, I've just had 3 police officers hammering at my door at 4am after being falsely named as a suspect in a burglary. I was falsely accused by my brother in law's wife of burgling her home. She and my brother in law are going through a bitter separation. Just to give you a bit of back-story, she is living with us at the moment, which she resents, and she also has a track record of making false allegations. Fortunately, I was able to show the officers that at the time she alleged I was burgling her home I was actually on a train to an air show, travelling with a friend's family. November last year i recieved a call from the police (at 9.20pm!) to say that my name had come up in an harassment case and they wanted me to go in for a voluntary interview. I know of the person involved but dont know them personally...does that make sense? so when i was asked over the telephone do you know X i said yes i do. At the time i asked if i would need a solicitor and the policman said no but a friend advised that i should ask for one to be there. Is it your duty to report a dangerous dog breed (illegal such as a Pitbull) to the appropriate authorities? But, if you didn't report it, and you knew about this illegal breed dog and it happened to seriously hurt or kill someone, would your neck be on the line? Basically, if someone in your external family had a dangerous dog, which happened to be a Pitbull, would you have to by law report it?

I was talking to a security officer of a supermarket today who was talking about the CCTV equipment they use in their stores. He was saying to me that he was told that he wasn't able to email still images of suspects of fraud to other branches in the local area. This was due to the DPA. This struck me as weird because surely a photo is better than a brief description! I was reading through the DPA and thought Section 29 (prevention and detection of crime) would make this sharing exempt? But maybe there is more to it, anyone have any experience with this?? Jordan

Is it a requirement to inform someone if you have requested a Criminal Record Request, or can it be done without notification? I am not talking about the Police carrying out these checks but other organisations.

Hi, I was wondering if you could advise on the best course of action please. 5 weeks ago we took in a 17 year old neighbours daughter (18 in October) as we saw her walking the street in her dressing gown late one night. It turned out that she and her 15 year old sister share a room and fight very badly. Her Father had had enough and had told her to leave. i have noticed a worrying trend over the last year or two of police allowing cyclists to cycle along the footpath and turning a blind eye to it? imagine the situation, an adult male weighing approx 15 stone, cycling along a footpath and hitting an oap! time and time again in hemel, where i live, i have seen this situation, yet i have seen police doing nothing about it? can you tell me why the police are allowing this? please dont give me the blarney about the roads "not being safe", when i cycle, i stay where i should be. Hey, I was wondering what i can do about a silly situation im in. I was recently working for a guy and i also renting a room off him.
