Not quite a topic on criminal justice - but I didn't receive a tax disc reminder through the post and when I've come to look for my V5 so that I can nip to the post office I've only got the green tear-off slip. The previous owner hadn't sent in the V5 and it's still registered in his name! Grrr! So now I have to go a round trip of 90 miles to get a copy of the the V5 and tax the vehicle! 7 years ago a large amount of debt was run up fraudulently on a credit card that was in my name. I complained to the Bank and they acknowledged that I could not have made the majority of the transactions but they would not accept it was fraud as it was my partner who used the account and they did not believe I did not benefit from the transactions. This was also upheld by the financial ombudsman. Until now she had paid the minimum payments to a debt collection agency but has informed me she will stop and I cannot do anything about it. It is now on my credit record as a default. Can the police investigate this or would they come to the same conclusion as the Bank? All …

Just over a year ago my wife and I were splitting up after she had been having an affair for 2 years. She had left but came back for a few days to do some things locally, letting herself into the house without my consent, While I was preparing my evening meal she started arguing as she always did but this time I threw a plastic bottle at something that was standing between me and her, this was a one and only time this has happened. Unfortunately my hands were damp and the bottle missed its intended target and hit her on the cheek causing bruising and she has subsequently claimed a fractured cheek bone but provided no evidence of this. My new neighbour has two children, one 5yrs old, the other 7 weeks. She needs to go to a meeting in a place that is difficult to get to by public transport. I have offered to drive them there. I have no children, she has no car, therefore neither of us possess nor have access to any kind of child car seat. Leaving the children somewhere is not an option. lets say for arguments sake there is a locker on the premises of the local swimming pool. you suspect a drug dealer has been using it to store his stash while he went for a splash. do you need a warrant to force the locker open and or search it? bearing in mind voluntary searches are prohibited. would the warrant be against the dealer or the swimming pool operators? The new law bans immobilising and towing away vehicles at retail parks, blocks of flats, council housing estates and hospitals. An incident occured this morning where a man in a van shone a red laser pointer at my chest while I was stood at a bus stop and was laughing with his colleague who was driving the van. Is there a law or some legislation about doing this to a member of the public?

We return home and are woken by the police on the door at 3.30am saying a female had called from the house saying she was being sexually assulted... I'm considering hitting the road on two wheels (125cc) from the depths of Hertfordshire to commute to London. I'm aware that the country roads can be a bit precarious I am considering all manner of defences. I know there are rules in relation to motor vehicles displaying blues, but what about motorcyclists when it is attached to their person?
