Hello, I'm after some advice regarding driving (small 2005 motorhome) whilst on SORN (no road tax) totally slipped my mind!! NEVER done anything like this before. To my horror the other day (evening of Easter Sat 30th Match, 2013 ) noticed I didn't have any tax on my motorhome whilst camping in South/West Wales (St.David's) (I live in North Wales) It's been on SORN for the last few months. Totally slipped my mind before I left home on Friday 29th it was the end of March!! Hi guys, Is there a stop and search power specifically for knives/offensive weapons. I seem to remember (Although I think I'm wrong) that, like S.23 MOD, there is a specific power for this in the Prevention of Crime Act 1953 (or similar) I know S.1 PACE can be used to the this effect but it would put my mind at ease to know if there is specific legislation. Question: I let someone drive my vehicle as they inform me they have third party insurance on another vehicle if driven with the owners consent. Whilst driving along, I'm a passenger, if we were to be stopped and it turned out he was wrong - who is liable for prosecution, me or him?

Newer officers in our force have begun issuing a FPN ticket (e.g seatbelt or mobile phone) and also reporting on summons (for in case the ticket isn't paid!). Is this current practice or unecessary? I thought it was one or the other?

I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this but... at the supermarket earlier a pensioner damaged another car while parking. The pensioner got out his car and proceeded to walk to the supermarket without leaving a note or any insurance details. A MOP who witnessed it stopped the pensioner and made him aware of the damage he'd caused. She was writing notes and I assume she then presented details to the supermarket. Is this a civil matter or police matter? Would it be up to the individual, the supermarket or the police to settle this? Me and a colleague were having this conversation the other day whilst we were sat up waiting for a car to go by which was meant to be driving with no mot and the car SORN'd. Now I was saying i would issue a NE FPN for driving with no MOT and one for not displaying a valid VEL, whilst also reporting him to the DVLA for driving it whilst SORN'd. But my colleage was saying he would only issue one for no MOT and just report him for driving it SORN'd. His thinking being that if we deal with it for no VEL we're taking 'two bites of the cherry' and it may stop the DVLA prosecuting. Folks, wondered if you could help me. I recently saw a car on eBay that I liked and made a bid for it. I didn't win the bid but a day after got an email from the seller asking if I still wanted to buy the car as the winning bidder pulled out. The reason the seller gave me was that he had to sell his car before he could get a new one. My Cousins cat went missing on Thursday last week, after thinking through all the "worst case scenarios" and getting to grips with the fact he may not have survived the cold weather for 3-4 days my cousin walks past a neighbours house to see her cat sat in the window!
