I am just wondering, as far as I know You can use a normal sat nav no problem and not be pulled, unless you are driving without due care and attention. However, mobile phones are getting smarter so if you are using it as a sat nav can you still be pulled for using a mobile phone. What are people views. Howdy, Quick question, I know you can get CCTV of yourself under the DPA in a public place but what about a place, where the public typically have access? Specifically, Canary Wharf. Someone I know has had a bit of a barny with motorist whilst on a bike. After the motorist left they asked for CCTV at the time and were told no by security. I said roadsafe reporting was at least a good way forward and get the CCTV, mentioning the DPA as a way to get it. To set his expectations I said, nothing much may come of it and if the circumstances amount to more offences which they'd follow up they'd be in touch. i.e. better than doing nothing, which the chap was considering. Something I've seen on another forum. Someone got pulled over for using a mobile phone whilst driving (reading a text I believe). They were told that if they got a handsfree set and bought it into the station, they wouldn't get a ticket. I've heard of similar things (lights on a bike), but just wondering if we have any powers to do things like this? Ignore the fact that having a handsfree won't allow her to see the text (I believe anyway). Think this is the best place for it. What do people think about it, if it is all OK? A good use of discretion?

I recently received a Prevention of Harassment letter (form 9993) from the Met Police containing false allegations from my Neighbour From Hell (NFH). I was not asked for my side of the story at any stage. The PC who gave it to me said in front of his colleague "It only lasts for 6 months, after that it's finished" (6 month rule?). What is the difference between s.1 (rape) and s.2 (sexual assault by penetration). I've had a look at the wordings of the offence and they seem exactly the same. What considerations are taken into account when deciding what the charge would be? Cheers.

Ola. I was off duty the other day and had to deal with a person who decided to jump onto the back of a moving tube train as it left the station. They then decided to get off once the Emergency panel was pressed as it was about the leave. Obviously you've got Section 5 POA 1986 offences there. Is there an actual bylaw or train related offence? Made a thread similar to this before, but I'm still curious. A friend of mine received some emails from an unknown email account. My friend was replying, and then suddenly none of the emails would send and it was as though the account had been deleted. My friend has asked me whether they should report the email address to the police. The email address in question didn't have a name that could be associated to anyone, and has apparently now been deleted. If my friend reports the email, would the police do anything? Or not?

There was an incident at the weekend that involved a window getting punched which resulted in a crack developing. The following morning i had no memory of the events and was violently sick all night. Througout the course of the day, concrete evidence showed that it was me, but it was agreed that it was extremely out of character for me and i had never had any previous involvement with the police. I was then released with a police bail notice, and have to return in 20 days. Came upon a bloke on a corner giving cash for people to sign up to his website. During signup, he needs to get their IDs. He says the ID is then sent to other websites that he signs the person up for (I think it's gambling related) with all their provided credentials. My ex girlfriends new boyfriend started sending me harassing emails to stay away from my ex. He sent them from a fake account, so my ex didn't believe it was him. I took it into my own hands to 'fight back', so I retaliated by making a fake email account, and forwarding her fake messages that her boyfriend had written. When she blocked an account, I set up a new one. I was trying to prove it was him, because he started threatening me about my health issues. She starts to receive emails supposedly from her new boyfriend, he denies them. It carries on, and she blocked the email. Hi all, I have been working in a large garden and tools etc shop for around 4 months now. We dont have any form of security, only CCTV and we rarely have any involvement with the police. Last week we had an incident when someone tried to purchase a rather expensive garden ornament and had switched the price tags so that instead of it costing £299 it displayed £99. My manager came over and confronted the customer, but we didnt get the police involved. Is that actually an offence? as the customer didnt leave the store, they just came to pay, we realised what they had done, and they were asked to leave the store.
