the police took my polo top and jacket because i was jumped one night walking home, but there was no one charged with it and it did not go to court so im wondering how i go about getting my property back , its been nearly 2 month now and ive herd they send you out a letter or somthing like that but iv'e not herd anything since the incidence. baring mind this is in scotland. thanks.

Ok, some background... circa 1989, at the age of 16, I was given a police caution for Indecent Exposure. I have looked at various threads but haven't really got a answer. It most likely is obvious. Is an air rifle a section 1 firearm? so if you saw someone hunting without a licence they should be arrested and booked in or given WOA?

In these last few weeks of hot weather, I've seen loads of posts on facebook and twitter about leaving dogs in hot cars. One today by UKCopHumour said people should call the police if they see a dog in distress in a hot car, which made me wonder, do we actually have a power to enter a car for an animal? Obviously if it was a child you could do it under s17, but do we have anything similar for an animal? Do the RSPCA have any powers to do so?

Random question really, Jack Meadows from Sun Hill is an incredibly keen SC/PC so keen in fact that he takes all the uniform and equipment he can take from his Police Station home with him. He then goes on holiday to Blackpool with all his kit, once there he puts it all on and goes out to do some policing unofficially. So my question is can a Police Officer impersonate one? Or is it a different offence? Or a disciplinary issue. Cheers *this is just a scenario, I have NO intention or know anyone with such intentions.

A relative has been arrested for theft, then bailed and questioned again. The OIC then told her solicitor that he was preparing a report for the CPS and that she would have to wait to see what emerges. She is no longer on bail and hasn't been charged. She was contacted today and told that the OIC would like her to go to station voluntarily to answer a few more questions. She is very worried as she doesn't know what to expect, she was told that it would not be recorded. Can anyone shed some light on this until she gets in contact with her solicitor? What might happen here? Thank you

I recently assisted the RSPCA by obtaining a warrant under S23 of the Animal Welfare Act (i.e. to enter and search premises for offences under this Act). This was obtained in the local Magistrates Court. I was told that the RSPCA do not swear out their own warrants, which I found hard to believe. There seems to be much debate online about what powers the RSPCA do and do not have. hi, A while back I made a complaint against an officer using IPCC,( I had at the time valid reasons) However after reflection and learning more of today's law, I realize this was a mistake. I want to undo this complaint but cant seam to find anywhere on the IPCC site. Any help is very gratefully appreciated.

Hi, As a Police Officer I have very limited knowledge of the scrap metal dealer laws and need some advice. If a dealer fails to record details accurately of scrap metal recieved or sold / processed or fails to keep a book recording the transactions would you arrest that person? Could they be summonsed instead of being arrested for these offences? or would they need to be arrested in order to be interviewed? Any help on this would be appreciated because as a response officer I have very limited knowledge in what to do in this situation.

1) If Person A lawfully arrested Person B using Pace Sec 24a powers, would the offences of a) resist arrest b) unlawfully at large (if they then got away) apply? Or do those only apply if arrested by a constable? 2) If a former police officer arrested using 24a do they need to do the full caution etc? I imagine they might by default but is it required? 2b) how about necessities? Ta

I had a situation posed to me by a work colleague the other day which I found quite interesting and wanted to put it out to see what an appropriate response would be. The situation was an elder woman had been stopped for speeding at night and on her own. An officer had approached the vehicle and asked her to step out which she refused. The lady apparently was quite distressed and concerned that the officer in the marked car and full uniform wasn't genuine and she was scared. The officer produced his warrant which she refused to accept as she said she did not know what a warrant looked like and it could consequently be fake. I just wanted to pop a post up here to gather some opinion on this as it seem's to me to be a "fuzzy" area. I recently saw a can of anti dog spray called "Bite Back" (http://www.bite-back.net/) which can be used to deter dogs that might be aggressive or about to bite (much like CS for people) but has no long lasting effects and doesn't use nasty propellants like CS, Mace or OC pepper (quoted from a law guide). I wonder if it is a legitimate item to carry or like CS is this subject to Section 5 (b) of the Firearms Act 1968 (http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1968/27) that states...
