come across a case i seen a few months ago never quite understood, Just relating to S170 RTA, if someone is involved in an accident where damage is caused can an individual just give his name and contact number, rather than address as he may not feel safe giving out his address and just give his car owner details. just of the topic a bit can audio recordings of conversation between parties involved in the above case be used as evidence. (defendant not aware of recordings).

My understanding is that S.12 of PACE outlines that personal medical records (either in relation to physical health or psychological health) should not be seized when executing a search warrant, unless there is a specific Court order for them. My interpretation may be wrong! Whilst this would include a Dr's surgery, it could also include someone that offers private counselling and stores records at home or perhaps someone that does sports therapy message, for example. However, what happens if these articles are discovered during a S.1, S.32, or S.18 search? If a police officer feels that these articles are relevant to an offence could they seize them? Hi, first post so be gentle please haha! Hope I've put this in the right place but recently there has been discussions between officers in my station regarding the issuing of a section 27 order to leave notice. Basically, does the person being issued one need to be intoxicated themselves or can they be just generally disorderly which could lead to alcohol violence - like provoking people on a Friday night? Hope that makes sense, I'm a new special so would like to hear what you think! Thanks

After reporting someone for an offence how quickly after that does the file need to be submitted to CPS?

Can you commit criminal damage if two people have the right to the property? For example in a domestic situation where for example a TV which two people have payed half for each, one of the people damages it, does it consitute "propety belonging to another"?

I recently attended a call where a man had been interrupted by a plain clothes officer whist trying to take a photograph up a lady's skirt on an escalator in a station. I realised I was unsure of the law regarding voyeurism etc. and made a point of doing a little research. There are essentially two offences that might apply. I have been on duty every night this week, and are having problems with a particular group of youths. The main one gave me false details the first time I stopped him (which annoyed me ). I then gave him a grilling for being anti social in a public place and told him to go home. However I saw him hiding in a park about 30 minutes later, and because he was 13 i told him I was going to take him home, and tell his parents. While waiting for a car to arrive the youth said he wasn't going to come with me and I couldn't think of any legal powers to use that I could make him. Hi Just revising some stuff from my specials training. In relation to the police and criminal evidence act am I right in thinking that you can arrest someone for not providing you with the correct name or if the person you are dealing with refuses to provide their name at all? Is this an arrest the custody sgt will be un-happy to fill a cell up for or is it a commonly used arrest?

This has probably been discussed before, but where does the LAW stand with any police using blue lights and breaking speed limits etc to respond to calls. I know certain forces (Eg, Met) require you to be a response driver to use such provisions, but a bit of law searching is leading me to believe that there is no law enforcing this. Having a general root around the internet I stumbled upon this. It is a "defence spray" and the company go to great lengths to emphasize that it is legal. So since I'm not going to just believe what someone trying to sell something says (plus they use Wikipedia as a citation so yeah...) what are you takes on this? Is it legal/illegal or just not yet been decided either way by a court? and secondly if you searched someone and found one of these would they be coming with you for further checks or being sent on their way? (this is out of interest as opposed to actually thinking of buying, if this should be in scenario city please move it.)

I know this has been discussed but I can not find the original post with the bit I am interesting in. I have heard that section 27s are being done away with and instead a new direction to leave is coming into effect. The new one I believe covers alarm, distress and harassment and not just alcohol related disorder. Can anyone shed some light on this, please? Thanks

Are you breaking the law by fitting customised lights underneath your vehicle, the laws seem to change according to what mood a policeman is in if stopped, 1) the lights must work on an independent switch. 2) the lights must not flash. Desperate for clarification!!!!!!!

Hi all, perhaps someone could help me with a scenario I have been thinking about. If a neighbours dog escapes from its garden into your garden and then bites one of your pets or you what offences have occurred?
