I was having a discussion with a friend last night over insurance on cars bought. In the scenario, you have just bought a car from a private seller/ dealership but do not have any existing insurance cover for any other vehicle. Are you able to drive the bought vehicle home once purchased? My friend said that they have heard you can drive the vehicle home without insurance, which is something I have heard before but surely you are not covered and are therefore driving without insurance.

Hi all, hope you are able to advise me on this. This morning we received an envelope with a hand written address of 'The Occupiers' 308 High St. etc etc (Not real address but will suffice for this tale). The 308 had subsequently been crossed out and our number - 314 had been added. It appeared that it had been delivered to 308 in error and after 308 opened it, they realised it belonged to us. Hi I was recently harassed by someone via calls and texts. And he also called 2 taxi firms and a fire engine. He was charged with harassment without violence and persistantly making use of a public network. Under the Act I mention in the subject. Can he be convicted for that for just calling the fire service one time? The charge says he made "persistant use" of a public network but he only made 1 call. Does this mean that because he did not call more than once that the word "persistant" could get him off of this charge? I assume the word Persistant means that he would of had to of called the service and wasted their time more than once. And I am worried that this will…

Hi All, I am just wondering about powers of arrest at a crime scene/cordon - I witnessed one of my regular colleagues recently tell a local oik that if he tried to enter a cordon he would be arrested? What powers do we have on cordons? I know there is a power under s.36 of the Terrorism Act 2000 to enforce a cordoned area, but what power of arrest is there- and what if anything applies to a non terrorism related scene?

Hi guys, Just been watching the documentory 'the specials' and this girl is arrested around 8 min in for section 5 for swearing etc - but there are no members of public around? I thought the offence had to have someone offended by the behaviour? Since we cant be 'alarmed, harassed or distressed' as 'easily' as the public (apparently) it would take more than a few swear words right?

I've only just started driving about 2 months ago and I've noticed something pretty bizarre, everybody speeds. I'm often doing 29/30 on a 30mph road only to find people people swerving left to right an inch from my back or looking to over take me at any opportunity when I'm going the speed limit. I recently drove from Hitchin, Hertfordshire to Yarm, Cleveland (Around 200 miles) in the early hours of the morning.
