I have been doing some reading about the Landlord Licensing Scheme, as I was not fully aware of it, following a consultation being launched in the area that I am from. Hi, This may seem like a daft question, but I've never owned a car so its a little foreign to me. Number plates that do not meet requirements are not allowed since 2001, so no italics etc. The DVLA says: Now if I am understanding this correctly, if you have a car that is 20 years old, which has a number plate with italics on then that is legal. However if you have a car that was purchased after 2001 then its not legal. So even if you do a cherished transfer of a number from your 20 year old car to a car that was new after 2001 then it would need to conform to the new standard? Discussing stop and search powers while doing some revision the other day, and we started talking about giving a caution before you search someone you've stopped. Am I right in thinking that if you caution someone you are not arresting, you have to give caution +2, i.e. not under arrest and free to leave, but to search them you are informing them that they are detained for the purposes of the search - therefore contradictory to each other. This actually happened a few weeks ago. My friend parked on private land with clamping signs for a football match. Cars always park there on match days as the land owner asks for £10 parking. My friend did not pay the £10 and said "I'll take my chances with a clamp" knowing it's illegal. When he came back his front tyre had been let down. Are there any offences to letting down a car tyre? I've had a good search and cant find this info anywhere. Apologies if its been asked before. As a TVP SC there is a travel concession on using Reading busses with the deal being I would need to assist the driver if requested. This is a concession I won't be using until I'm at least FAP and have some experience. Even then using it would be risk assessed against my personal circumstances and time of day etc. My question is what rules and laws are there regarding bus travel and ejecting passengers if requested?

Hello, I want to ask about a case of gaffer tape being used for activism purposes on a tarmac public road surface by a member of the public. The tape came off without any notable marks and no cleaning needed to be undertaken. Does the use of tape in this manner constitute Criminal Damage, or warrant a fine? So I was having a discussion with a colleague (non-police) who wasn't aware of Section 144 Para 1 which states: The part in red (which also occurs in almost ever sub-section of 144 has me questioning the use of this section? I was under the impression that you now needed at least 3rd Party Insurance as long as you vehicle was in a public place? (if I'm wrong then this is a moot question of course) if so then you would still need to have insurance and therefore could never utilise the Section 144 exemptions.
