So being from a force that covers multiple different force areas, I've noticed some variability on dealing with a bail back. Some custodies will insist that a DP is re-arrested for the original offence when they return, others don't bother. Question is, is it necessary to arrest someone on return from bail?

Hi everyone. I have images from an HGV driver (he posted them online himself) driving at 60MPH while facebooking and taking pictures. How can I send these to the police? He does this frequently in his car and was even caught on video allowing young kids to drive his car (nothing came of the video, noone knew where to send it). Now he is committing even more dangerous acts on a motorway at 6MPH in an HGV. He is going to end up killing someone if this isn't stopped. For info the incident was in South Yorkshire. Thank you. Hi all, Just looking for opinions on this scenario... The property involved are bread crates, the brown things you can see outside corner shops and proping up market stalls etc. The ones in question are marked as property of allied bakery - allied do not make these crates for anyone else nor authorise there use by others. These crates tend to be 'acquired' by independent bakeries and used by them to transport their own bread products. Allied do take steps to recover these baskets - a recovery officer will attend the bakery where they are in use and take the crates away - any subsequent 'legal' action is normaly carried out as a case of conversion in the civil court. We have a 2 year Restraining Order against my neighbour for harassment. I was assured at the Magistrates Court that this would protect us from further harassment. It hasn't. My neighbour continues to breach the order and we continue to report each breach to the Police. The Police tell us that there is no 'power of arrest' attached to the order and therefore they can only 'invite' the neighbour in to discuss the breaches. The Magistrates Court has said 'nothing can be added to the order to give us more protection'. It seems unreasonable to issue a restraining order which is powerless .. i.e. 'leave your neighbours alone but if you don't no one will stop you'. A…

my neighbour (from hell!) parks his car in front of his front window but, as there is insufficient room for it, there is always one wheel on the narrow pavement. He hasn't driven his car for months (banned?) and the road tax will expire at the end of May. He will probably register a SORN. If one wheel is on the pavement can a SORN apply?

I wonder if anyone can enlighten me. If someone was to drive their car with an entirely false registration showing what would the correct offence be. I ask because this actually happened to me the other day... the vehicle was showing a ten character VRM which were all letters. It was a UK registered vehicle (and the correct VRM was established from a chassis check). Hi, I am a newbie and would like some advice, please. My daughter is 33, an inuslin dependent diabetic and gave birth to a premature baby 3 weeks ago. During the pregnancy and since, she has suffered high levels of pain which she did not have prior to pregnancy and that may be diabetic neuropathy but it is yet to be diagnosed. The pain clinic put her on pain meds but they didnt work very well (I have since sent her to a private doctor who has done tests and prescribed meds which finally appear to be helping!). On Sunday I was falsely accused of shoplifting at Tesco Thurrock. I didn't leave the store, the alarm went off when I entered the toilet area. I handed over my goods and receipt but was still taken to the office. The security guard said he just needed to take my details. At no point did he mention he was detaining me, but when he got me to the office he said that they needed to check the CCTV and if it showed I had intentionally intended to steal an item, the police would be called. What were my rights in this situation as I feel I was falsely detained. Thanks

Does anyone know what the minimum sentence is for assaulting a police officer, if any? If it were up to me it would be an automatic 30 day imprisonment and £1000 fine but it's not up to me unfortunately. The only thing I can find is a maximum which is 6 months imprisonment.

Would a warning show up on a PNC check? I have a clear PNC check saying no information is held about me, but there is a domestic incident that happened when I was a minor and the neighbours called the police. I eventually said that I had been hit (due to several reasons) although the other person did. Due to my age, mental state because of the events, and time since, I am not sure whether this was a warning or a NFA. I have done a PNC check. Which came back as no info held, but would like to know if a PNC would show warnings and whether the no info held means it was a NFA. Stopped a vehicle the other night for a routine check. On closer inspection its had little LED light heads under the grille and in the rear, and also a H/L flasher and siren installed. The driver claimed it was for filming and training on a private site. All of the equipment didn't work as it was all on a fuse under the bonnet that gets removed when the vehicle is on public roads so that the kit cant be turned on. The guy checked out fine, and turned out he was a special for another force. My question... no offences? Do the Road Traffic Act and Highways Offences apply to private land when open to the public? I've heard conflicting responses regarding this. For example, is it an offence to drive and use your mobile whilst in a private car park, or to not wear your seatbelt whilst on site at a music festival, etc. And do the various requirements such as having insurance/licence also apply?

Does a vehicle have to have insurance or is it the person driving it who has to have a policy to cover him. Scenario is: Vehicle check on PNC shows no insurance. Stop the vehicle. Driver says that he has another vehicle which the policy covers him to drive other vehicles. Checked on PNC and this is the case. Is this OK?
