Is there anything illegal or wrong for a civilian to wear a stab vest in public? For example you are searching someone, and underneath their jacket they have a stab vest on. Their excuse is "This area isnt a very safe neighbourhood".

The news ( http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-28790502 ) are reporting that a woman from Oldham has today been arrested on suspicion of causing death by overlaying. I've never heard of such an offence, and can't find anything on Google. Has anyone come across it before? What law is this covered by?

I've read some articles that say that mobility scooters are exempt from thr road traffic act so police can't deal with them. However this link ( https://www.gov.uk/mobility-scooters-and-powered-wheelchairs-rules/rules-for-class-3-invalid-carriages )from gov.uk states that the police can pull you over if you don't have the required features on them. The laws regarding mobility scooters seem confusing and they don't seem to be regulated so anyone cold have one. Has anyone actually pulled one over before?

Good evening, Before I start, I'm not another Walt wanting to plaster a car in blue lights and scream round for no reason. I run a company doing event medical cover throughout the UK and want to know the legalities of using a temporary fitted light, I.e magnetic beacon at the roadside should I come across a RTC etc on my way to/from work. I've gotten slightly confused on Tresspassing. As I understand, there is no criminal offence of tresspass in E&W, however, could somebody tell me how they would deal with being called to the following. Lets say a person has decided to protest a company and has sneaked into their building as everybody got to work. They have then barricaded themselves in a meeting room and refuse to leave. The building management want them out as they are not authorised to be there. and similarly, A male is in a pub and has been a little abusive to some patrons, the landlord wants him to leave, but he refuses. Section 176 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 came into force on the 13th May 2014. This inserts a new section into the Magistrates' Courts Act 1980, which makes shoplifting of items worth £200 or less a summary only offence. However, Section 176(6) states: Does this mean that the any person powers of arrest as provided by Section 24A of PACE are unaffected by this change, and an any person arrest could still be made for low value shoplifting?

I am new and was just wondering how police dealt with, say a shoplifter, who appeared to be suffering from a mental health condition but not to the extent that they needed to be sectioned under any Mental Health Act. Would they still be arrested?

Hi all, I have recently bought a plug in electric car, but the problem is I live in a terraced house. Please see the attached picture for my method of plugging in which hopefully is legal... The cable passes over the pavement at above head height, even standing next to the car. Is this legal or should i look for alternative means of charging up? Thanks.

Hi all, Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong section....it's been a while since I've posted. My next door neighbours smoke weed in their garden on an almost daily basis and the smell is overpowering, so much so that I have to keep my bedroom window shut.Is it worth me submitting intel about this or maybe having a quiet word. Hi All, During a night out me and friend got caught up in a big fight in town. Basically I was attacked by 10 lads, my friend ran in to help and it basically went on for like 5 minutes. End result was my friend was knocked out cold for 10 minutes and we both went to hospital. The issue is that group are claiming we started it.. Hi, As an avid knife thrower (always in a safe, club environment), I am looking at some more miscellaneous throwing objects, and came a across this set of batarangs. Are these legal in the UK (being classed as some sort of throwing knife), or would they fall under the same category as shurikens, hence being prohibited under the Offensive Weapons act? On a side note, are Jōhyō (rope javelins) with a straight knife blade legal? As usual, these would never be carried in public, and transported in a case in the boot of a car.

I am concerned for my brother as he has a very verbally abusive and threatening neighbour. I understand that there have been many previous incidents that have been going on for some time and that he's also responsible for having slashed the car tyres of my brothers car on two occasions. Can anyone advise me on what action can be taken under these circumstances? I was witness to his latest verbal aggression and threats and being without valid cause nor reason I'm very concerned for my brothers safety.

Its only out of interest as I haven't managed to find the answer elsewhere but there are an increasing number of local shall we say 'youthful type' drivers who have taken to fixing writing, stencils and logos to their front windscreen. These vary in size but recently I have seen one with large yellow and white lettering with a logo at the bottom which took up nearly 1/4 or the windscreen on the passengers side, top to bottom.
