I've just witnessed a really bad case of driving by an 'Ambulance Responder' (paramedic?) He 'bullied' two cars through a red light! He approached the junction at speed and then sat behind them with his siren on, nudging forward until they both went through it on red. I know it's their fault, they shouldn't have gone through the red light, but it was a clear case of bullying. No emergency call is worth risking your own life and the lives of others is it? I'm sure he will have been trained not to do this!

Hi folks. Our (3) children's school has placed yellow zigzags around the wrong entrance which is always barred with a gate and has never been an access. They (the school) admit the lines are in the wrong place. They (the school) claim the council know also. The council turned up and shortened the lines by about a car's length either end as soon as term started. The zig-zags do not have an accompanying/additional yellow line - they stand alone. The other (presumably correct) entrance has a times of enforcement sign (8AM - 5PM) right next to it. This sign is 12 mrtres+ away from the relevent end of the current road markings. Hi there Guys Just a question relating to the powers of arrest with a Section 27 Breach. I haven't been able to find this information out on the internet. Obviously you'll nick someone for a breach of a S.27 Order, but what necessity comes into effect there do you think? Would it be in the prevention of possible Injury/Loss or damage to property, or just the standard Prompt/Effective Investigation? When I was 19 I recieved a caution for 2 grams of cannabis, this was a time when my family was breaking up, divorse, my father was going bankrupt, drinking heavily and I was spending more time with undesireables than I was living in my familys house due to so many arguements. Another question for you all, what is an allegation? What I mean by this, if a member of the public wishes to make a complaint to police about a crime, how much must you be told before you can act? When we arrest people we have to tell them a brief circumstance, the date and place, is there any law that states or any form of guidance (NPIA/CoP/etc.) that states how much we have to be told?

If someone is putting pallets, cones etc to reserve a parking space is this a council issue/ highways or a police issue? There are not parking restrictions on the road they are just saving a space for when they get home. If it's police what is the offence? If it's council/ highways what can they do?

I was wondering what UK officers thought of this scenario. Person under police protective measures, and hate crime victim (with allocated hate crime officer) has a phone call where other party are concerned that in an outburst the crime victim may have made a threats to kill outburst due to extreme stress and distress. Other party is concerned for victim so calls dispatch in the county. They dispatch a local unit, already planning a welfare visit to the victim, who had, but that stage, experienced more hate crime. I heard an inspector say something a little odd last night, in that S.32 searches needed to have a written record. I've never heard this before and I see no mention of it in S.32 PACE, http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1984/60/section/32 : does anyone know of a legal requirement to do this?

Just a quick one as i'm a bit confused and cant find the exact thing i need. When arresting someone for breach of the peace and when your away from where it was committed you decide to de-arrest, does it come under section 30 PACE subsection 7A or does common law have its own? cheers

Morning all, on this bright and sunny Monday morning I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to these questions... You turn up to a shoplifting where the suspect has been detained by the security guard. Now I know we don't have a power to 'detain' anyone, unless we arrest, search etc. however I have two questions: the first is, what power is the security guard using to stop the male from leaving? Hi All, Quick question relating to the power to search a person at a police station, that has come up in class today that nobody seems to know the answer to. Consider this scenario: Joe Bloggs attends police station voluntarily to turn himself in for an offence. You are an officer in the public reception/enquiry area and you arrest him for the offence. You place him in handcuffs and wish to search him for any dangerous, for evidence or for implements which may be used to assist him to escape. Under what power can you make this search? The obvious powers, to me, do not apply in this situation: s.32 searches after arrest only apply to arrests made at a place other than …

S30 of Pace What's it's purpose/intended use? Seems to be a power allowing me to take people to the police station. But only if I'm by myself?!

Can you FPN a vehicle with non.flashing blue lights in the grill / bonnet vents? Can't find it in FPN codes but this stop we made didn't look like it was legal. Made driver unwire it roadside no FPN issued.

Hello all, hoping to get advice to help out a local group who are car enthusiasts and raising money for charity. I am a new police officer in the met police so still learning, please bear with me! In my town there is a small group who, one evening per month, hold a gathering of cars to raise money for charity. They have been organising meets regularly, however they had one last week and a couple of issues have arisen: 1. People were noticeably carrying cannabis 2. Noise complaints 3. The meet finishes at 11pm sharp. All cars must be left by then. After this time, approx. 00:00-01:00 when all the marshals are long gone there have been cars going up and down the street…

Are there any grounds for issuing an arrest warrant without suspecting that someone has committed an offence? There is an ongoing case in the media, where an arrest warrant has just been issued but no mention of a specific crime has been given. Obviously I wouldn't want anyone to comment on that specific case. So, I just wondered in general, can it be done, if so under what circumstances?
