I read a topic on here a while back, and one of the posts linked to a piece of interesting case law, but I can't remember what it was. If I recall correctly, there had been a shooting at some kind of government building (perhaps an embassy). The suspect started to flee the scene, but an officer opened fire, and it was deemed that shooting a fleeing suspect can be reasonable force in self defence. I don't suppose anyone knows what I'm talking about? :lol:

Whats an R V BRYAN statement? And why is it required for drug case such as cannabis cultervation? Who can do you one? This is very new to me as I am a probationer.

Just a quick question! I was always under the impression that if you accidentally ran over an animal (non-reportable animals) you couldn't legally take it to eat, however the vehicle traveling behind you could. Is this still correct? Anyone point me in the direction of the legislation? Ive had a look but not having much joy.

Now that our local police no longer deal with lost property how are you supposed to deal with any property you find in a way that won't leave you open to charges of theft by finding.

If a landlord has suspicion that he has a cannabis factory on his rented premises but doesn't allow entry is he liable of an offence? I know we can get a warrant but surely he must be committing some offence? It appears he is turning a blind eye so he keeps getting rent.

I've asked this in other places and have yet to get a proper answer. As Halloween is coming up I'm considering dressing up in a costume where I'd have a replica dueling pistol. The pistol is pre-1870 and clearly looks more like a prop than an actual weapon. What I'm unsure of is the legality of using it in costume. In other places I've asked I've got mixed answer from "yes, so long as you stay in costume and do not leave the building with it on display" To "no, not at all". Are there any clear laws for or against use of period replicas like this?

Hi. My motorbike is my only transport, and as winter is coming now I won't have any choice but to ride at night. I'm a fairly new rider so sometimes make silly mistakes, but never intentionaly do anything illegal on it. I am considering adding some extra lighting to the bike to make it easier for cars to see me. I have attempted to research if these mods are legal or not, got a lot of opinion, but no facts. I think the easiest way to do this is if I list the lights I plan to add, and if some actual police could tell me how they would react to each of the lights if they spotted me. (Assuming I was riding in a sensible way) The lights would be fitted in a competent way. …
