I have a situation here which took place in a work and is caught on CCTV. Me and my coleague where messing about an joking, he came up to me and used the compressed air to blow the content from marker pen on me. So I responded with the safety knife we got in work by making slashing immitation and accidentaly the blade came out and I made a wound in his leg around 6cm wide and <2cm deep. Ofc they took him to hospital and accident was reported, obviously I got suspended. and I now have to wait what happens. The guy doesn't want me to have any problems, but Im worried about the company, what they can do. Not worried about the job itself, I lost it 100%. It's been 2 days…

Bit of a scenario to explain my question - S59 Police Reform Act A colleague stops someone for causing a nuisance in a vehicle (say harassing residents by playing loud music from their car) and they issue them with a 183 warning, within the 12 months after the owner then sells that vehicle. That vehicle is then bought by someone else in your area, who you pull over for a similar offence, upon conducting checks you find that the vehicle has a 183 warning attached. Now, not taking into account your use of discretion, could you in theory seize the vehicle straight away without issuing first a warning to the new driver?

Hi guys. Recently I had to call 999 as my mother in law was at our house threatening to stab me, she also took a few swings at me and landed a few. after I rung 999 my wife rung 999 and told them I was making a false statement and that her mother never came over. but I have the whole thing on voice recording which I gave to the officer in charge. Now when my wife is Lying to the police and saying I am making a false statement. is that a crime ? can she be charged for it ? Section 17 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act gives Constables powers of entry for indictable and certain other offences. As well as this, Section 82 of the Terrorism Act 2000 states: I'm guessing that "non-scheduled offence under this Act" means an offence that is an offence due to this act, but it isn't scheduled, rather than any non-scheduled offence. Would this be correct? I'm after the legal answer rather than moral answer if that makes sense. Neighbour dispute (I know what your thinking bear with me!) where nextdoor neighbours have a shared fence on the title deeds. Z raises height of fence without asking X if its okay, the height is below that where planning permission is needed. X is not happy and removes the added parts damaging it in the process. A person buys a stolen item from another person for over a thousand pound. A couple days later he finds out that the item he bought is stolen so returns it to the victim. The person that sold him the item bought it before selling it from an unknown person on the street and paid 900 pound and didnt know it was stolen either. There is very little evidence to prove that the person that sold it on knew it was stolen. Where does the person that gave the item back to the victim stand in getting his money back. My ex with whom I have two children with, now has a boyfriend who is violent and abusive, he ended up getting arrested and jailed for beating her up and a bunch of other charges. Of course she still supports him and has cut off her entire family to stay with him. Anyway he was remanded in custody and his trial was at the High court in Edinburgh the other day, I have not been involved in anyway and all I know is he was getting done with 36 different charges. My ex wont tell me what exaclty they all were and I think he has pleaded guilty but not sure if its to all the charges or not. Is there anyway I can legally find out this information? There have been any number of idiots in the news in recent weeks walking along sea walls with waves crashing over them. There are also other areas that might be dangerous due to trees or buildings about to fall. If "words of advice" do not work and a person insists on being in a place where their life is in danger, do the police have powers to use force to remove them or arrest them? Likewise if they are putting children in danger can they be prosecuted for child neglect, can the police take children out of the danger area?

Hi all I caught my neighbour from across the road of my house taking pictures of my car and house, i also suspect i would have been in the picture as well as i was looking directly at the neighbour when she was taking the picture. As i haven't given permission for my neighbour to take pictures of me or my property are they in breach of any laws. Hi. I recently have been the victim of a car insurance company falsifying my information in order for that agent to get a cheaper quote to get sale. They put through that I had various driving qualifications, children, and that I am a homeowner - all of which is complete lies. I believe that the call centre agent falsified my information so that he would get the commision for the sale. I only noticed that they did this, because I read through the email documents and the incorrect details were on the Certificate of Motor Insurance. If I had not of checked or noticed these errors, and attempted to make a claim in the future - my insurance would have been null and void. …

Hello, I just need an advice as I was offered a position and my new employer asked to fill DBS application form. I do not have any criminal history, however in 2011 I was interviewed by police. I have provided evidence about another person whom they were suspecting. I haven't done anything, and it was the only contact with police. Could anyone advise me if this kind of information would appear on DBS?

All, Something I was discussing with colleagues today. If you feel you need to arrest/detain somebody under s136 but they aren't compliant, kicking off, actively resisting or fighting with you etc. Assuming that the arrest/detention was lawful - what power do we have to use force? I've discounted S117 PACE as this isn't a provision of PACE, I've also discounted Common Law as this isn't self defence. So my initial thought were S3 Criminal Law Act '67, use of force in effecting or assisting the lawful arrest.
