Road Vehicles (construction and use) regulations 1986 Reg 109 Television Sets The driver must not be in a position to see whether directly or by reflection, any television or other like apparatus used to display anything other than information about the state of the vehicle, location, to assist the driver to see the adjacent road, or to assist the driver to reach his destination. Im assuming based on the above law, i can use an ipad as a sat nav without penalty???

Can anyone clarify the situation is regarding footage of a crime recorded on a mobile phone? It used to be the case that the original tangible media was needed- I.e. it needs to be seized. But what would the rules of evidence be about someone emailing footage?

An ex employee has been stealing from me, I have handed over all the evidence to the local police with the intention being not to prosecute but the monetary value being returned to the police & then onto me, this so far hasn't happened & the guy appears to have no intention of doing so, can I go back to the police & decide to prosecute the individual after first saying i didn't want to ? Hi, I have an opportunity to work as an intern for a large company in America, and on the application they want to know if I have any past felonies/convictions. They will be conducting a very thorough check on my background history. When I was 14 I was arrested for graffiti-ing on a public fence. I spent a few hours in a cell, and was given a caution. I was told the incident would stay on my police record until I was 18, and then it would be cleared. I also read that recently many minor police cautions have been completely deleted from the government's database. I am 24 now, and I am wondering if I should mention this on my application. Hi, I was involved in a motorcycle accident where a 4x4 turned left out of a junction and crossed the central white (not solid) line and collided with my motorcycle, causing me to end up with a broken ankle and a written off bike. Police and ambulance attended and statements were taken, the insurance company have stated that the other party are paying up so no fault on my part. I have received a letter stating that the cps are taking no further action. My question is this, was a law not broken whereby the vehicle crossed the divider line when there was 20 feet width of clear road on the side of the 4x4 and collided with another vehicle coming in the opposite direction?

Hi I'm just wondering if anyone could give me some advice about the new filtered cautions and convictions for a dbs certificate. I have a caution under criminal damage act 1971 s1 (1) damage under £5000. When I have looked on the exempt cautions and convictions it says that arson and damage to property that endangers life is not exempt. However theses are under s1 (2) and (3) within the act but it doesn't say specifically which parts are exempt? Could anyone possibly please advise on this please?? Thanks

How does the law differentiate between a search of premises under Sec. 18 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and Sec 32 of that Act? If anyone could help, it would be very much appreciated.

I was in a chatroom chatting with a girl. She indeed was a girl cause I heard her voice through the microphone. Anyway to be brief, she told me to give her a 5pound paysafe card so she would had cyber sex with me. So I bought the card and gave it to her. Then she first pretended she was an agent and accused me of having cyber with underages (obviously for fun, she told me she was 21 though), and then she disappeared. This came up in another part of the Forum - does the English legislation draw a distinction? Is it to do with Special Constables in England not being members of Police forces? The Police (Scotland) Act defines "Regular Constables" and "Special Constables", who, along with the "Chief Constable", constitute the "members of a Police Force" (and are therefore are all "Police Officers"). Strange one - during a search of premises a can of CS gas was found. The owner insists it is empty and therefore not a can of CS. He says he bought it in Germany in 1999., and says it was legal then, he used it up, and just kept the empty can?.. Is this a sec5 Firearms offence or not?
