I'll give a useful for instance. A passing member of the public comes up to you. I'll outline my understanding - if anyone can clarify the murky bits, I'd appreciate it. I've question marked in brackets the bits that I'm not totally clear on: S1. The police recently rang me in regards to a case, they also rang several other people all of whom were friends with someone who was on bail. I was wondering if the police are allowed to take contact numbers of a suspects and use them even if the contact has NOTHING to do with the case in question. It seems very wrong and dodgy to me. They were ringing to see if I'd say something bad about the person who was on bail. They couldn't have got my number through the phone company because the phone isn't in my name. we own a shop and have cctv for our own protection. we often get local businesses and residents asking to see if we have recorded all sorts of things from fly tipping, damage to cars, general minor stuff, it takes a while so we as a rule do not give it, we are very busy and the cctv cost US a fortune and is for our security. we have had police ask in the past to check for local yobs walking past and minor thefts etc, all wasting our time as there are no council cctv on this business park. I am trying to get my head round the law surrounding trespassing. I was mistakenly under the impression that Trespass is a criminal offence, but on further research, it's not. Infact it's a civil matter. The only trespass that is criminal is when there's an intent on Criminal damage, theft, GBH etc. So what if you're called to a property, say a party, that has a few unwelcome visitors. They aren't there to cause damage, aren't there to cause GBH, infact they are pretty well behaved but simply refusing to leave. How would you deal with this? Good morning, A colleague was 20 minutes late into work this morning as he was held up by a Traffic Census. This was predominantly run by HATO and a single police offIcer was in attendance. Obviously the requirement to stop at such a survey is given by S163 of the Road Traffic Act - however, is there a requirement to participate in the actual survey itself, or is a simple "I'm late for work, I'd rather not stay" allowable? Hi, Not sure if this is a cross between Scenario city and Law but here goes. Under s.144 of the RTA 88 you can be exempt from needing to have third party insurance if you have posted a bond of £500,000 with a court. My question is as follows, does that then mean that all the vehicles you own are exempt or where you are the driver? Section 146 talks about the requirements within the security talks about What that says to me, is that one security might cover multiple people and multiple vehicles. So if I were a fleet insurer, this could potentially be a much cheaper way for me to go (assuming I'm willing to shoulder the risk). Some types of business insurance might …

I am wanting to get a CB 500 with puts out 56 BHP, On my pre 19th jan licence I am able to restrict it to 33BHP. There are a set of questions that I would like to ask as I have no intention to get my bike taken away as I have worked very hard for it. 1. Is the 33BPH cert in anyway legal, I have heard that its only needed for insurance compaines and the police do not see it as a legal doc. 2. So here's one for you: You're out town walking one Friday night and you see a squadie kicking off towards one of the door staff. You go up to him and request his MOD90. He fails to produce it to you. Now, I think it's under the Army Act which means he has to produce his MOD90 on request to police or military officers but I can't seem to find it? Anyone know where this is?

You know when your at work, its late and your brain stops working. Just checking something A GBH takes place in an address, suspect arrested outside. Officers enter address under 17 pace to make sure no one else has been hurt and also S32 pace to search for evidence, weapon, scene etc The occupier is present and wants officers out. A brief search is completed, no one else in danger, so s17 is not longer being used. However a weapon and large scene has been located in the address. Helping a friend move house and was asked to take her bed base in my car. It wouldn't fit in the boot of my car so someone suggested tying it to the roof, I said no because I am certain it's not actually legal to do that without a roof rack or some kind of decent fixture thing other than rope although I don't actually know for sure. Hi lads and lasses, Living in Greater Manchester I know of a few clubs that confiscate drugs from punters who are in possession of said articles. Once the 'bouncer' takes the drugs from the punter (for police collection) doesn't that make the bouncer in illegal possession of say a Class A?*** Just a thought I had whilst at work! Hi all, I know this may of been posted before, but I have looked and cannot find the answer I need. My question relates to Security Companies using Blue Lights and sirens on Vehicles at large events to attend a scene quicker. I understand that them using blue lights and sirens on private land is legal, but my question surrounds having blue lights fitted to vehicles. My understanding was that no vehicle shall be fitted with Blue lights and drove on the roads, unless they are an emergency service.
