strange question but I am concerned about my daughter whose ex is trying to ruin her life at the moment. When my daughter and her partner split up they decided to get the Royal Mail to hold the post at the post office and they would collect it there until they had their new addresses sorted out. Two months ago I was raided by 4 police for an alleged facebook comment, had my laptop and phone seized, I know a neighbour had informed the police also that I may be harbouring something mor sinister behind my door, I dont know possibly drugs, a millatant or maybe a something of that nature, they came at 9pm the two plainclothes officers had a quick and were quite satisfied there was nothing untoward and left. Please can someone help me. I was arrested at home the other night for theft with regards to my sister making an allegation that I stole over £50,000 from her over a five year period. When my mum died we agreed to get her wages and my dad's pension paid into my account as most of the direct debits were paid that way so it would help with the hassle of running to different banks. Is it illegal to HAVE lights of the wrong colour facing front, or only if they are in use? I'm thinking particularly of a pair of Port and Starboard navigation lights. Oh, and do Construction and Use regs forbid the use of a flag staff and flag on the rear boot of a vehicle, or is that just down to the fashion police? I'm a newly appointed SC and have still got a lot to learn, but am currently unsure of the powers given to constables to search vehicles. I understand that s.1/s.32 of PACE allows us to search people pre/post arrest, but what legislation allows us to search an offenders vehicle before and after arrest?? Can anyone provide me with good arguments supporting the prohibition of drugs? Here are my arguments against the prohibition: 1. Prohibiting drugs increases violence. Murder rates dropped significantly when the USA ended it's prohibition of alcohol in the 1930's. 2. I picked the wrong time to ride the bus this morning - on two occasions during the journey, the driver caught somebody out attempting to use an out of date pass. Both times he simply confiscated the pass and asked the person to pay up or leave, otherwise he'd call out a fare inspector. I presume that this is something that the bus company will usually deal with themselves using byelaws and/or conditions of carriage, with police involvement being to ensure that the person gives the correct name and address to the inspector if required. Hearing that crimes against goths, emos etc. will now be treated as a hate crime I wonder if we need a rethink. If people are targeted because of their race, or sexuality or disability then they are being targeted for something they have no control over. However, people belonging to a sub-culture do have a choice. Whilst attacking them just because of the way they look, in my opinion, is just as bad as racism it seems there are other totally unprovoked attacks that are equally as bad. Had a weird thing happen last night and wondered if I really caused someone some grief by accident. I saw this cctv screen grab of two felons lifting a bike into a van. One of them looked like a mate of mine but obviously wasn't and I laughed out loud at it. So I tagged him saying I thought he said he was doing such and such. Not one 'comment' or 'like' on it, then suddenly he comes on and says that te police monitor FB and he's been spoken to about it. Is he really winding me up would you think?

Hi all, When an investigating officer is utilizing online surveillance to collect evidence, identify suspects and the like, he is most likely acting under RIPA 2000. Does PACE have any application within the investigation/evidence collecting, besides what you'd find in an ordinary investigation? I can't work out if there is, or what section/code it appears under! Hopefully someone more informed can assist. Thanks

Sorry for being daft but I have just gone over this in class today. So my friend disappeared summer 2011. My school couldn't really do anything about it because he was 16 years old and so didn't legally have to come to school anymore. His mum called our school in October of that year to say that my friend was living with her in Italy, but wouldn't let the school speak to him. Since that there's been no sign of him.
