Can someone clarify what the law is when wearing a three-point safety harness in a car when the original seatbelt is still fitted?

Hi All, Just hoping to get SOME advice if any on the below situation. Yesturday someone smashed into the back of my car and left a massive dent in my bootlid. He drove off and left me their. I managed to get his number plate as he drove off and have one potential witness. But once ringing through, his insurance company says he denys it completely and doesnt have a clue that a crash even occurred. Now i am not sure if their is any CCTV, I am not sure my witness wants to go to court or anything stressing as hes old. What happens now? Does he get arrested? I cant really prove anything to be honest just an old man and a number plate. I am really furious about this....…

I have received a couple of FB messages from what appears to be a fake FB account. I don't know this name, but they seem to know a lot about me. It's just stupid but nasty abuse, but no threats or anything. It has upset me as I have no clue who it is and why anyone would do this! Do I have a case of Mal Comms? I have reported to FB and blocked them.

Does anyone know what the deal is with civil recovery? For example a shoplifter is given a PND or arrested for the offence can the store then arrange for civil recovery? If the offender refuses to give any details do we have to provide the to the shop if they ask? To me it doesn't seem fair that to a certain degree they are having 2 bites at the same cherry.

Simple question really, Is it possible to commit sec 4 PO in a police station? I have looked at the legislation and it can be committed in a public or private place. It cant be committed if both parties are in a dwelling, but a police station is not a dwelling I would have said, Your thoughts first and then il explain a bit more. :new_yummy:

Someone recently suggested to me that there's a fairly new offence which is essentially possessing a knife in a public place with intent to do something further (I can't remember if it was to cause fear or actually to injure) and which would carry a mandatory prison sentence. Is anyone aware of what I might be thinking of? I've done a little Googling and also taken a look at the CPS guidelines but I can't see any likely looking offences. Perhaps one of us was mistaken, or maybe it's only been proposed.

Hi, In 1999 aged 16 I got a caution for possession of a small amount of canabis. I need to do a Police certificate for immigration to Canada. Will this come up on this check? I can't remember if it was an informal caution, but they did take my finger prints. Thanks for any help

Hi, there was an assault on my daughter a week or so ago. She is going to give her statement tomorrow. Iv been told already it will be a video interview that will take 2 hours and as you can imagine she is quite anxious as she has never given any statement before. Can anyone here please tell me what to expect and why does the interview take so long when the attack was only lasted a short time. Any help is greatly appreciated thank you :)

As per the HO guidelines Documents can be protectively marked with: TOP SECRET SECRET CONFIDENTIAL RESTRICTED PROTECT UNRESTRICTED The guidelines are that restricted or above documents should not be sent via unsecure email. My question is, what if you do? Obviously any company using these will have their own internal processes but I cannot find any central enforcement of this? I.e. criminal/civil action? Hi, a couple of months ago false accusations were made about me, I believe in a bid to discredit me, the council employees claimed I had made threats to use a gun and dogs against children. This was not true but resulted in two police officers insisting on entry into my home demanding to see certificates for a shotgun (I dont own shotguns I do have two air rifles) they also demanded to see a shotgun cabinet, which I dont need. Hi all, I am curious on how the law apply s to under 14s on an arrest. For instance does a the parent of the child need to give permission to do finger printing or DNA swab? Also can a child on their 1st offense without charges made be locked in a cell on their own for over 3 hours? Any help is greatly appreciated! There is a problem in the security industry with fraudulent job vacancies set-up to con money out of people. There are two main types, the first of which can be done for any job. 1. A job is advertised with a phone number to ring. The number has an answer machine advising of a large number of calls and suggesting you call the other number (which may also be in the job ad). Hi there I have a question that I need some advice about and hopefully you could help with that. If a person shopping online somehow manages to "skip" the payment page on an online shopping cart thus mislead the website into thinking they have paid for the items when no payment was actually received is that considered fraud or shoplifting? Or would the person have to be physically present at the shop for any charges to follow? And if the items they ordered were sent and delivered under the belief that payment was made is that something that should be reported to the police?
