Hello everyone, I have recently put in a new garden shed 12 x 8 Ft. I have a bench under the window facing the garden, I have arranged many small tools, including screwdrivers, small wire cutters and pliers, soldering iron etc along the window ledge, and I also have hammers along the sidewall and GARDEN TOOLS spades etc on the wall opposite the window. Which would be visible to any once in the garden and close to the shed. The shed is visible to some neighbours and is covered by two automatic domestic type (PIR) floodlights ... My question . Hi Was just wanting to pick people's brains. Was called to an incident the other day were two 19 year olds were firing an air weapon out of their flat window into a park. A member of the public complained and the two lads were arrested by arv's for posessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence. I was made oic and had the jobs of doing interviews. During interview, both said that they had no intension of causing anybody to fear violence, they were just shooting at trees in the park and were not aware of any members of the public in the area. This straight away negated the intent to cause fear of unlawful violence. It left me wondering what offence the…

Keeping in line with my habbit of asking random questions: When you caution somebody, the whole "You do not have to say anything" (i think thats the caution?) when you get to the end and you check for understanding, if the cautioned person says "no" do you have to go over it all again or what? I imagine a lot of very awkward people people get cautioned and would say "no", can you use your discretion that they are just playing up or do you have to keep telling them? Sorry its random but i was just thinking if you said "no" and the officer just ignored you, would you have a "get out" in court that you weren't properly explained the caution? Cheers

I have been looking for a second car for a while now. I have seen one i like but it is a cat c. It was involved in a accident and the car was bought back and repaired for around £1500. I am after some advice on driving and insuring on a cat c? I have no idea what this involves.

I understand that if I make a citizens arrest and it turns out that no offence has been committed or I've got the wrong person then I am liable for prosecution. What happens if I see an assault (ABH) and make a citizens arrest and call the police and then the victim decides they don't want to press charges. Am I sort of automatically guilty or would the attacker have to prove they were innocent before they could get me prosecuted?

In relation to its mention in law, does anyone know how much uniform is needed to be 'in uniform'. For example, in plain clothes, but wearing 'POLICE' marked body armour under a coat. If you take the coat off, are you then 'in uniform' for the purpose of issuing a Section 5 PND for example?

the other day, a firearms incident came in in relation to a vehicle that had apparently been seen with a firearm. i was nearby so volunteered for any containment duties. the AFOs did a voluntary stop with this vehicle and searched the males and the car. no firearm was found, but in the boot of their vehicle in black binliners was over 100 mascaras, 100 electric toothbrush heads, 5 bottles of champagne, 2 bottles of whisky, 30 ambi-pur sets. no receipts. i was with my sergeant and she asked me what my thought process was. i considered a disclaimer for the items and letting them get on their way. but i was concerned about the amount of goods that i considered arrest suspic…

I've been studying driving offences recently and noticed that both my class notes and the Blackstones manuals refer to section 2B of the Road Traffic Act 1988 as being "Death by careless and inconsiderate driving". However after checking out this link I can't find it anywhere. Am I imagining it? Am I just being stupid as to reading the legislation? cheers, Steve
