Although my name may suggest otherwise, I strive to try and keep within the law, as I see no point in inciting it's wrath upon me. As far as I see it, breaking the law merely puts yourself and other people at risk and if you don't agree with a law, the best thing to do is to try and take it to the top and have it appealed or , not break it. Anyway, i'm interested in performing a peaceful protest against our current government and it's let's say more.. right wing policies which disgust me as a Liberal Socialist. Hi I am new to all this so please bare with me. My son was the victim of a street robbery in January on his way to school, by 2 older boys who were masked up and came from behind, they beat him up and stole his ipod. The boys in question have been arrested and one of them was found with the goods on him, said my son gave it them. One is charged with attempt robbery and theft from a person and the other with attempt robbery. They have pleaded not guilty at their first hearing and am told that on their 2nd hearing (1st May) will probably do the same. Hi peeps Haven't been on here for a while. I've been up to my eyes in getting ready for my fitness in 1 week. Not sure if this is the right section. But i'm after some help/advice on my baby!!! Hi There, I need to find out the following: If I own a car that is not taxed or Motd, and I need to get the car to the Mot station, is it legal to drive the car on the road as long as I am going to the MOT station? or would it have to be trailered? The car would be insured, but I am not sure if the insurance would be invalidated as the car is not MOTd. Kind regards, Alex

We have just brought in to the force these Section 27 Direction to leave notices. Particulary targeted to anti social behavior especially alcohol related. I would be interested to find out if they have worked in other forces and if the notice is broken by the individual there is a POA attached. Please can you advise under SOCAP would the arrest be neccessary or would the person be summons. If the individual is not drunk would the Cust sgt require a pace interview immediately? Your thoughts would be appreciated especially as the force I work for just handed out these notices without proper training.

just wanted to pick peoples brains.... Its an ongoing case so i will leave any detail out of what happened. But basically, a couple of months ago I issued somebody with an efpn for driving whilst using their mobile phone. this person has contested the ticket and the matter is going to court. I was reading over my statement the other day and realise that in my statement, I do not mention that I reported the individual for driving whilst using a mobile phone. I am just wondering what effect this will have in court. Does the fact that the person was issued with an efpn in itself class as reporting them for the offence???

Got a question....I have found that MOWP is a difficult one. If you have the usual £20 or £30 make off for fuel how do we show the intent? nine times out of ten it's very difficult. As part of my coursework, I'm supposed to talk about police powers regarding stop and searches, arrests, and police detention. I've used PACE for all of it, and was told I should also talk about SOCPA. So I was just wondering, with the exception of S25 being removed, and S24a being inserted (I think that's right), was there anything that drastically changed stop and search powers, search powers, and police detention powers (including fingerprinting, detention times, etc.)? I’m a documentary filmmaker, and I am planning to make a documentary on squatters and the legal system that in England and Wales allows squatting. When I discovered that it is legally possible to occupy someone else’s house, I thought that it would be interesting to listen to the different people involved. Hello, I was in my local fish and chip shop yesterday in an extremely quiet rural village in the South of England when two rather large biker women walked in. Both were wearing belt kits with handcuffs attached and other various pouches. Now as far as I was aware we don't have bounty hunters in the UK and especially not in my village!, I also managed to establish that they were not police officers as they had things like 'Death' and 'Hell' tattooed on their hand. I was wondering what the score is with MOPs carrying cuffs? Does it need to be justified i.e security guards? Is it legal? Regards constabledunstable

Hi I have some questions - actual and hypothetical - about lights and a couple other issues. Can a member of the public use wig-wag headlight flashers under any circumstances in normal driving situations? Can a mop use their normal headlights flashed in any context? I've got my wires crossed somewhere so maybe somebody could help...... Being read my rights ,then my name and address taken at the side of the road and told to be on my way. Would that be classed as a formal caution that would go on my record??? The 'offence' was catching the train for two stops at 11.30pm without a valid ticket.
