Afternoon peeps Im trying to find out if there is any law on the height a car is allowed to be of the ground? I have googled it but not having much luck. Thanks

I did ask this at training the other day and never really got an answer. Does a teacher have the right/law to go into any pupil's draw (talking primary and where they keep there work and unlocked) without asking them first? What happens if the pupil refuses? The teacher isn't looking for anything dangrous maybe a book or another pupils pen? The school teacher i spoke to has been told it is "against the law for you to go into a pupils draw as it is his/her private place" although the draw is property of the school and has not been paid for by the pupil. I guess it would be the same for lockers although they will be LOCKED. Thanks

I have to confess I don't know the answer to this one, and I was asked the question the other day. Can a member of the public call into a police station and insist on making a statement ? I was told many years ago that this was the case, however I have no idea if it is, or not. If someone can let me know it would be much appreciated.

Afternoon, Hope this doesn't sound like a silly question, just something that popped into my head. Do police officers still have their powers on flights to and from the UK? If not, what about internal UK flights? Not too sure why you'd have to use them but if the situation called for it, could you arrest people in the air? Thanks for your time! Rob.

What are the laws on camping, can i go into a forest (obv not a protected one or such) and make a camp, with fires etc. Are there designated camping areas (not camp sites) in the wilderness people can go and camp or are camp sites only the place to well...camp lol

The scene is this, you are walking along a public footpath and stop to speak to a neighbourly friend. As you are about to walk on a large golden retriever dog comes flying out the house next door and leaps at you ripping your coat sleeve, the lady owner watches but fails to call the dog off, the dog comes at you again and you try to kick it away, it then sinks it's teeth into your trouser leg tearing a large hole in them but fortunatly not connecting with your skin. If someone was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and a small bottle or container of alcohol was found on the person would this be an offence? To be carrying a small bottle of alcohol in the pocket?

Hi all, Here's one for you: I got called to a job the other day where a youth had been shining a laser pen into the eyes of passing bus drivers at the wheel. The description given was poor so I couldn't single the perpetrator out for a stop check etc. However, can someone throw some ideas my way of what the offence would have been? There must be some exotic law that'd fit this incident! - like the "endangering an aircraft" offence of the guy who shon a laser pen into the cockpit of the force helicopter (incidently, same force + division as this offence). Cheers all.

As you will probably be aware, in protest at the Pope's comments recently in Regensburg, Muslim protesters have been gathering outside Catholic Churches, most notably Westminster Cathedral. Here are a few photos of the demonstration - Police have received around 25 complaints from Joe Public: I was wondering what laws may have been broken, if any. My own thoughts (not being a Police officer) would be: Causing fear, intimidation and covering faces to conceal identity. Any thoughts on this?

A while ago I broke down on a motorway and whilst my vehicle was being moved to as place of safety, the police arrived and both myself as the towed vehicle and the towing vehicle were given NIPs with regard to driving on the hard shoulder. Eventually it was NFA'd for me and the charges were dropped when the case was reviewed just before going to mags for the other driver as he was acting within the powers of his office. What did surprise me was that in the NFA letter it referred to the offence I committed, rather than referring to is as an alleged offence. I thought an offence was only deemed to have occurred upon conviction or by accepting an FPN or the like?

Hi all, Exactly what it says on the tin. I am currently doing the pre-read for day 6 and am on the public order offences. now S3 Affray I dont understand ? well ...... heres what I understand If someone with threateneing to beat the living day lights out of someone, you have to take their actions in to account as well as what they are saying? it cant be done on verbal threat alone ?? and this is the bit I really dont understand ??? But it is not the person being threatened but bystanders and MOPs around the threat ???? as you can tell I have no grasp over this one at all, I dont even know if what I understand make sense. if anyone could put this in stupid man terms …

ok in short a dog gets out of a garden and gets hold of a cat and kills it offences/outcome if any its the first time the dog has had any problems and the owner has offered money for the loss of said moggy thanks
